Me too!  I can’t quite believe the pictures and videos coming out of Christchurch – the CBD is like a war zone.

I was just there less than a month ago and my brain is not computing what i’m seeing now with what i saw then.

I hope that everyone stays safe and that happy news will come out of the rubble in the coming hours.

Thanks guys. While I’m in Auckland and safe although it has effected my family and my work mates. We are all devasted at the loss of life and carnage. My boss who lives in Chch was visiting Wellington yesterday and was stranded there. We booked a hotel for him for the night but he couldn’t wait that long to get to his wife and 2 small children. He managed to get on the ferry to Picton and get a hire car. He drove through the night and arrived home at 5am today. He isn’t an emotional person and hearing him break down in tears this morning on our conference call really hit home at how this has devasted our people. Please send hope and prayers that the 300 missing will be found alive and rescued and that the death toll won’t rise further.

Did we have any bees in Christchurch?

I still hope they find at least 1 survivor, although it is really unlikely…

I am in Christchurch, luckily we are safe but it does make planning a wedding a bit more stressful as well! Our venue is out of town so that is OK, but all the bridal stores were in the CBD except for 2…so now trying to get the dress and bridesmaids figured out which is a struggle. We were about to have a wedding show too but that is now cancelled 🙁

In the big scheme of things though we feel extremely fortunate that we and our friends are OK. I feel very guilty even feeling bad about the planning stuff when others have a lot more to deal with here.
