Nope.  My boy is consistently about 10 points higher than my girl at every single checkup.

@zippylef:  Doctors now-a-days say that 150 is more accurate than the originally thought 140.

My son was always between 135-140 and my daughter has changed. First it was 168, then 170, then 141, then 143, then 150. I’m not due until September but I didn’t think the heart beat changed that much in the womb but the doctor said not to worry about it until it gets below 130 and then they would monitor me closely to make sure it stayed above 120. Each pregnancy is different so to say you can tell by the heart beat is false but it’s fun to see if it’s right or not.

My son’s heartbeat was always higher in the womb so definately was not true for us.

@BoiledPNut:  Well before the ultrasound it was right for both of them but my daughters heart rate dropped the month between my last appointment and the ultrasound. When I first heard it they said, “if you like to go by old wives tales it’s a girl” and laughted. I knew my son was a boy right after I found out I was pregnant and that this one would be a girl a couple months in based on other things. I always like hearing the old wives tales and comparing them to what you are really having. You have to find something fun to do. lol

This has been true so far for our little lady- she’s clocked in between 157-181 for my pregnancy thus far.
