My Intuition was boy, heartbeat always around 130-140. We were team green and had a boy!

Well I had twins and one of them was over 140, the other wasn’t and we had 2 boys, so I’m not sure about this theory.  I would say go with your gut.

    mrsfrendo11:  When I was a baby, I had a slower heartbeat so they thought I was a boy! Surprise…I wasn’t!

mrsfrendo11:  i didnt vote but ive been wondering this myself. actually a lot of people ive asked said it didnt seem to matter. for example my sisters boy and girl had the same heartbeat which was 150-160s. so it might work out for some but is prob. coincindence

Does it matter how far along you are when this is checked? My baby’s heartbeat was 166 at 8 weeks+4, but I haven’t been told the heart rate since (currently 12+5). I feel like it probably slows down as the fetus grows, but I don’t know if I’m right about that.

My sister in law thought boy based on heart rate, but ultrasound says girl. I don’t think the heart rate thing is accurate or reliable.

My parents always tell me everyone told them I was going to be a boy because of the heartbeat and the way she was carrying but they were wrong! (My parents didn’t find out my gender until I was born)

RoseandShine:  i just asked my doctor this and she said it does slow down. Ours was 160-something at 8 weeks and 154 at 12.5 weeks.

Hi! OB sonographer here, I have been asked this by many patients and I really don’t think there is any correlation between the two. I have had both fast and slow heart rates with different genders.

The heartbeat was over 160 at our NT scan and we’re having a boy (currently 33 weeks). It has settled to about 140 over the last few months.

Around 12 weeks the heartbeat was 155. This along with other signs had me convinced I was having a girl. I was so wrong but I’m very happy with my son! 🙂
