Isn’t there a way they can rush order it?  They must be a way! Most salons have that option of rushing for an extra cost (I know mine did).

@SoCoBlue:  Ahhh that sucks!!!! 🙁 I would definitely hold out if this is your dream dress.  But have a backup plan and be prepared to order a sample dress of one you loved 2nd most!

I would order it in September and have it rush altered for extra $$

That timing seems off to me…  If your wedding is in March and the dress will be in stores in mid-September, that would give you almost 5 months between ordering and receiving the dress and still allowing a month for alterations, which seems ample to me.  I know you said Maggie won’t rush new gowns (though I’d double check on that), but you could rush alterations!  If this is truly your dream dress, don’t give up!

Aww, sorry to hear that. Maybe try calling every bridal salon within a distance you’re prepared to travel to see if they have it nearer to those times? I wouldn’t necessarily take the consultant’s word for it.

If you can’t find an alternative dress that you love just as much, you could explore having it made. Of course, a lot of Chinese websites have incredibly affordable options and have a super fast turnaround time, but I also have friends who’ve had their dresses made locally and they did not end up costing any more than the designer version. You could use the dress as the inspiration.

I agree that the timeframe you were given is a little off….My daughter ordered her Maggie Sottero dress in September, it arrived in January.  Here is her salon info, maybe they can give you more information on this dress:  [email protected]

Good Luck!

Have you tried the dress on?  If not, it may not be your dream dress.

okay – I would caution against putting all your eggs in one basket.  Keep trying them on – you might be pleasantly surprised and fall in love with another dress

@GroovyHippieChick:  Very true.  I fell in love with a dress online that was not available yet (it was also way over my budget), so I kept shopping in the meantime.  I entertained the idea of trying it on once it was available in stores, but I ended up falling in love with and purchasing my gown before this other dress even became available!

You know what, even if you can’t get this one, it just means it’s not the dress for you. There are so many beautiful dresses out there….you’ll find something else you love at least as much.
