I’m going dress shopping (yay!) this week and my married friends really suggest you wear/bring heels that are the height you plan to wear for the wedding. I’m 5′ 2″ and considering a pair of 5″ heels with 1 1/2″ platform (so it would feel more like a 3 1/2″ heel) and it got me thinking – how high of heels did you all wear? Post pictures of your shoes, of you in your shoes, let’s see ’em if you got em! How tall are you? How did your feet feel? Did you change out? Share your shoe stories!
If your exact heel height isn’t listed round up to the closet size.

I would personally have not wanted to wear shoes that high because I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep them on all day and night and would want to be able to switch to flats or sandels for dancing without worrying about the dress being too long. I wore 2 inch heels. I personally hate platforms, especially on formal shoes. I am 5’8″ and Darling Husband is 6’2.”

These were mine…4 1/2 inch Christian Louboutin beauties. I’m 5’3 and my husband is 5’8, so we were pretty much the same height in pics, but eh, who cares? I love those shoes!

I wore flats, and I don’t regret my decision at all! I wanted something comfortable that I could keep on my feet all night. They were perfect.

@mrsSonthebeach: I’d probably bring a pair of 2″ heels to switch in to later in the reception.
@Miss Root: Excuse me while I swoon over those shoes. I absolutely love them! My FH is 5″11, so I’ll still be shorter than he is.

If you can rock’em, rock’em. I always have a healthy smidge of envy when I see girls rocking serious heels – but I just can’t walk elegantly in them, no matter how hard I’ve tried. Also, since Im a little over 5’6 and Fiance is 5’9, major heels were out of the question.
I got 2 inch Jimmy’s. One of my BM’s, on the other hand, is rocking 4 inch silver sparklers, very similar to @Miss Root:‘s – and she looks fabulous.

I didn’t wear these yet, and I don’t have them in my hands cause I just ordered them! 🙂 They’re 3 inches.
I’m also wearing a tea length dress so I’m soooo excited about showing them off 🙂

^ Tea length dresses are perfect for showing off flashy pumps! It’s almost a crime that you don’t get to see most of the fab wedding day shoes that brides wear with their full-length dresses.
I wore 4″ heels on my wedding day.
….buuuuuuuut after dinner, photos, and cake cutting, I changed into flip flops. Cuz dancing was SERIOUS business.

I’m 5 feet tall and my wedding heels were 4 inches I believe… They were gorgeous, but killed my feet so I changed into flip flops after the ceremony. 😉

Mine are a 5 inch heel with 1 inch platform. The first time I wore them was at my dress fitting after standing still for almost an hour my feet were hurting but im walking around them more to get used to them and break them in. Im 5’2 and my Fiance is 6’2 so I think we would look awkward if I didnt wear heels! lol Plus I will never catch up to him.

4.5 with a 1/2 inch platform. They were unbelieveably comfortable and manged to stay on for 8+ hours with no problem. I’m 5’4 and my husband is 6’3, so I can wear any shoe and still be a good bit shorter than him..

These are mine they are 4 1/2 inch heels. I am 5’6 and Fiance is 5’8 even though i will be taller than him i love them, and i prefer higher heels.

There are some seriously sexy shoes here! I’m thinking I’ll wear my heels out dress shopping and see how comfortable they are after standing on my feet and walking around trying on different dresses.
Keep em coming ladies!
