I’ve started my search for my wedding shoes, and I keep going back and forth between the height I want to go with. I love the look of really high platform heels, and I can walk in them just fine, but I’m worried that a couple hours into it my feet will be killing me. I’m assuming that since the dress will get altered to my height with my heels on, I can’t take them off or else I’d be tripping all over my dress.
I could probably go with a smaller heel, like 2 inches or so, but I haven’t found any with that height of heel that I’m crazy about..
I guess my questions are to the married bees — Did you wear heels to your wedding? If so, how high? Did you change into something more comfy or deal with your feet being uncomfortable?
I’d love to hear your wedding night shoe experiences!

I wore 2 inch heels. I like to wear higher ones but I didn’t for my wedding. I had to do a lot of walking for our first look pictures but I didn’t dance a lot at the reception so my feet were fine.

I haven’t done it yet, but i bought 4 inch heels to wear for pictures and ceremony, and 2 inch platform sandals to change into for the reception. I’m going to have the dress hemmed so you can see a little of my heels when they’re on, and hopefully only dragging a tiny bit with the sandals. I think if you find shoes that are only an inch or two off in height, you can make it work.

@Miss OBG: thanks! for some reason i didn’t think of the fact that I didn’t necessarily need to change from 4 inch heels to flats, i can change to 2 inch heels. great idea! I’ll definitely have to consider it.
Anyone else have anything to share?
