I am hoping I can get some suggestions/feedback from anyone who is a lot shorter/taller than their fiancee for photos. My fiancee is 6’6 and I’m 5’2. We just had our engagement photo session and our height difference was a bit of an obstacle in getting good poses/shots. I have been trying to look at some wedding photos online, and surprisingly a lot of couples are basically the same height.
Just wondering if anyone out there has the same issue, and if they have any pose ideas that are fun and work well with the height difference. Thanks for all your input.

we did some laying on the ground… also there were a few with my sitting in a tree and him standing behind me…. or him sitting on a bench with me putting my arms around him,…..anything sitting on the ground should camo the height difference 🙂 heres a few examples

@stephanie63087: Very cute photos! And many good ideas, thanks from another short bee!
@Kspot:I liked the different sitting/kneeling/laying by each other shots. We’re a pretty playful couple, so we might do some ‘piggy back ride’ photos, or hanging from a jungle gym pictures, etc. I figure if we’re head to head or doing poses that have different heights on purpose (sitting/laying, etc) then it draws the attention away from the natural height difference. Even action shots that have you pushing one another in a swing, helping one another into/out of a tree, etc will take away from the difference in height.

Fiance is 6’4 and I’m 5’2 and in a wheel chair!!! When we first started dating we basically took standing pics if I had on 3-4″ heels, which I loved wearing. Been in a wheelchair about 18 months now, and will be for the wedding, so although we can do some standng pics-I can briefly stand on one leg- the height difference will be big, no heels now. A good photographer will know how to pose you. Our photographer actually has shown us poses and ways to wash my chair out all the way. He even suggested a small stool to step on under my dress so standing pics, kissing pics can be nicer. Talk to your photographer, if he/she can’t help, then I’d look for another, they should have come across thsis before. The online samples probably use the couples close in height because it’s so much easier to photograph….lol

Im 4’9″, new hubby is 6′. Our photog didn’t verbally address our height difference (maybe she did mentally). Here’s some of our pics from our 10/13 wedding. We did a few like this–
and here’s some with us standing-

Thank you for all these ideas so far. I really like the ones where he is sitting in front with the girl’s arms wrapped around him.
Our photographer is a friend of a friend, and the cost savings were too good to pass up. I haven’t seen our pics yet, I’m sure they turned out great. I just wanted to get some other ideas to bring for our wedding shoot.
