This is kind of a spin-off from the “what’s the height difference between you?” thread. Are you taller than your SO? If you’re not, but you’re close in height, do you feel comfortable wearing heels with him and looking slightly taller? What’s your perspective on the topic?

I am taller. It only really bothers me when I wear pumps because then I am WAY taller. When I wear flats I don’t even think about it.

I’m shorter than he is and still a couple inches shorter in heels..I think it would bother me a little bit if I were taller in heels…but definitely wouldn’t want to be taller on our wedding day

Well, I am 4″ taller in no shoes, so I pretty much don’t wear heels anymore. He doesn’t really mind, but it is a little weird being 6″ taller than your husband in public.

I am taller than him in my high heels, but I wear them anyway and don’t care. But for the wedding I am getting very low heels (like under 2 inches). He specifically said he didn’t want our wedding pictures to look like Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, and neither did I!

I’m shorter but with my 4 inch heels we’re the same height. Taller if I went higher. Doesn’t bother me. I don’t know, statuesque is an awesome thing. To me that’s worth being temporarily even or taller.

I voted on I am shorter than him and dont care about being taller in heels
we are pretty much the same height AND I don’t care about wearing heels.

In heels I am taller than my Fiance by a significant amount, but we are about the same height when I wear flats. I usually don’t mind it, Fiance never minds it, but for our wedding, my mom very much minds it and keeps nagging about me finding 3′ heels or less.

He’s a couple inches taller than me so I’d be slightly taller than him if I wore heels. It’s not a big deal anyways because I was never one to wear heels much anyway. I’m more of a “flats” kinda girl.

My SO is taller than me even if I wear stilettos, he’s about 5 inches taller. I enjoy being shorter than him but I don’t really care.
An ex of mine was an inch shorter than me in flats. Since I don’t consider it dressing up unless I wear 3 high heels, it was most noticeable when we went out on dates. At first the double-take from strangers used to bother me. But once he told me that I was his “glamorous model girlfriend” (which is funny as I’m only 5’7 and probably 5’10 at most in heels). Suddenly, I changed my tune. I could view myself as a circus freak or I could imagine myself the next Gisele Bundchen.
I chose the latter.

Im 5’5″ and he is about 5’8″ or 5’9″ I only wear short heels like around 3 inches when Im with him. The highest I would wear is 4 inches and his shoes have a little heel on him so we usually come to the same height. I dont like to be taller than him so I choose to usually wear something to where we are the same height or im shorter.

5’10” to his 6′ and as long as I keep to kitten heels it doesn’t bother me. Being taller than him just looks stupid to me, though. We’re very similar heights/builds/body types, I don’t know if that affects it somehow.
Darling Husband simply adores when my shoes make me taller than him.

Fiance is 8 inches taller than me so… I’ve never been taller than him unless I stand on a chair. heels higher than 3″ hurts so I don’t ever even come close to his height! I guess it’s nice being so much ‘daintier’ than him, but really, I always envisioned my guy would be within 3″ of my height.

“I’m shorter than him but taller in heels and I don’t care about looking taller in heels”
Yep. I’m 2″ shorter than he is flat footed but I wear 4″-6″ heels when we go out. I don’t care that I look like an Amazon.

I’m 5’2 and he’s 5’6, which I think is perfect. He’s a stocky, muscular guy, so I always feel little and feminine.
I don’t love being taller than him though: so he usually puts orthotics into his dress shoes when I wear heels.: and that’s our deal for our wedding day:
I wear heels (he loves my posture in them), and he wear enough of a platform shoe that our 4″ height difference is maintained for our photos.
