<div>FI’s mother passed a few years ago and Fiance and I make it a priority to travel down to Florida to visit his father at least twice a year. During our last visit, Future Father-In-Law gifted me her beautiful diamond studs that were once worn by her great grandmother. I now have my “something old” and am honored to wear these! </div>
<div>The thing is prior to receiving these, I had a vintage look I was going after and nixed the idea of a necklace but wanted to balance out my look with dangling earrings. </div>
<br /><br />
<div> I was thinking of purchasing an earring jacket to wear with these studs. I’m on the fence about it because I don’t want Future Father-In-Law to think these earrings weren’t “enough” for me because they certainly are. </div>
<div>What are your opinions? Should I forget about the danglers and rock the studs?</div>

How many piercings do you have in your ears? I have lots, so I would wear dangly earrings in my bottom set and studs in some of the holes higher up.
Sounds odd, but you could always get a second set of holes put in your ear lobes, if you really wanted to wear both. Or do you think that would be too much?

@Rachel631: I have three but haven’t worn anything in the other holes in a long time. I hope the holes are still open. Thank you I never thought of this:)

@Birdi: I can see it both ways, but I would personally go with the studs alone. They’re beautiful and I love the story behind them!

I’d open up those other holes and wer both!

I think adding an enhancer would really take away from these beautiful studs and the wonderful story behind them – they would get lost in a sea of bling and go unnoticed. Give them center stage, it’s not often you get to wear real diamonds in your ears!

I agree with others, I have lots of holes in my ears, so I’d wear both.
Id start wearing earings in those holes now tho, so it doesn’t hurt in your wedding day.

Beautiful! How big are they? I’m getting some 1/2 cts from my grandmother soon, I didn’t even think that they could be my “something old!”
I would wear them plain with a necklace. And nothing in your other holes…

@Birdi: the diamond studs are beautiful alone. depending on their size, the dangle earring PLUS the studs may be too much.
do you know the size of the studs? i think either alone or with the enhancer would be lovely.
another option would wear the studs during the ceremony (something old) and change into the dangle earrings for the reception part.

thanks for the opinions ladies! I’m leaning toward just the studs now. I figure at least I’ll save some money

@mypinkshoes: they are .50ct each and the picture doesn’t do them justice they really do sparkle.

I think the studs are really beautiful, and the story behind them is just lovely. If you want, you could add/change earrings for the reception? Or, I don’t know what you’re doing for your hair/veil, but you could add a jewelled hair accessory to amp up the bling a bit more. 🙂

@peonyinparis: That would work actually, I am putting a floral piece in my hair, I could have my florist add something sparkly to it 🙂 thanks for the idea !

@Birdi: i think the wrap would look great with the earrings.

I would wear the studs in your second hole and get some dangly earrings for the first!!
