My FI is the most laid back person I have ever met. I’m the irrational argumentative one.
However, FI is obsessed with his football team (we are based in the UK, so think soccer). He WATCHES them every week. He READS about them. He LISTENS to people talking about them on the radio.
Which is fine. But if his team loses, well, he gets so GRUMPY. It drives me crazy!!
Any other bees or their SO’s get like this????

I told my FI I hate sports for this reason! After games that his team loses he is so angy and during the games that arent going well! I HATE THAT. Im like whatever but guys get so worked up

Yep! Gets worse when he’s on the phone with his dad and they’re both upset do they fuel each other’s anger talking about the loss.

Yes!! If something goes bad during a sports event (especially if it is someone in his fantasy team) Mr Grumpy can appear!!

Yes, this happens in my house too and I hate it. He’s normally so even tempered but when his teams are playing there’s yelling, screaming, pouting. And the outcome of the game definitely determines the mood of our day. It’s actually one of the few things we fight about.
He has tried to mellow a little bit and I’ve tried to be a bit more easy going about it. He’s just like his dad so I don’t think it’s going to change a ton….

Yes, my DH is very much like this. He will pout for a week until the next game if allowed to. He has mellowed a bit because we kept fighting about it, but it still happens to a certain extent.

@linnylou_88: I’m waaay worse than DH! Just watched Ireland lose to New Zealand (rugby) in the last few seconds of play (would have been first win ever!). I’m not proud of my behaviour (screaming and shouting and tears!!!). He’s way calmer than me!!

@linnylou_88: Oh yeah! His team is playing today. If the Giants lose I’m just gonna sleep at my mom’s house tonight!

My FH is a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He bleeds blue and white. It’s painful. They’ve been bad for so long. The playoffs last year were exceptionally bad – when they lost to Boston…he couldn’t talk about it for 3 days. If anyone mentioned hockey he got rather angry.

@linnylou_88: haha, bf and I are season ticket holders for our local soccer team. If we lose or even tie sometimes, we are both SO GRUMPY for the rest of the night and sometimes into the next day. We both brood and pretty much quit talking haha. We love our team, what can I say!

@linnylou_88: This I can understand. My FI is in love with Leo Messi. Not that Barcelona is not the only team he’ll watch, but when Barcelona loses I think he dies a little inside. lol.

Yes ma’am. He’s so laid back with the exception of sports.

My FI only has extreme reactions when it comes to sports. When something awesome happens, he literally jumps out of his seat and yells. When something awful happens, he literally jumps out of his seat and yells. When nothing is happening, he literally stays in his seat and yells.
And he watches MMA (not just UFC, but Bellator and other ones, too), Boxing and Football (USA football). Thank goodness it’s limited to that although he will catch a soccer game here and there sometimes. So pretty much Thur night into Mon night, our apt is my FI jumping up and down, screaming and yelling.

Hahahaha, we are both like this. Thankfully we’re BOTH on the same page–seriously, I think we would annoy anyone who’s NOT a huge sports fan. My (American football) team is doing horrendously this year (literally our worst record since 1979, ugh) and his team has a 23-game winning streak going. It has made for some uneven Saturdays! I honestly feel truly emotional and upset when my team loses, and so does he–at least we have each other!!

@linnylou_88: lol too fuBby! DH doesn’t get like that, but the guys at my old office used to. After a big game, they’d all either be in really good moods or really bad! Discussing the game would continue the whole day!!
