BEEEEEEES!!
Every now and then i get this extreme pain in my nipple. This has happened before randomly but has never lasted this long. Usually one at a time, never really both at the same time. The best way to describe it would to imagine two sharp edged ice cubes clamping your nipple and twisting. They are also super erect. The only thing that helps alleviate the pain is heat.
I had my period nearly four weeks ago and am not on any birth control. I just had my annual pap on the 29th but I don’t believe they did a test. I have not been on any birth control, I actually just got the pill and was due to start on it today.
Fiance just went to get me a test. Getting ready to take one now, even though i know i should just wait until morning.
I read online that it’s one of the earliest symptoms of pregnancy. If not pregnancy related it could be Fibrocystic Breast Disease.
My question is if any other bee has this kind of pain when not related to pregnancy. I’ve never been pregnant or even had a scare before.
Thank you!

I have. And then on top of that my period was late!
Ended up being a false alarm though. 🙂
ETA: I also had night sweats. Have you been having those? I don’t remember why any of it happened or why it stopped.

i still havent taken the test yet. i’m waiting because i don’t have to pee at the moment. i do get hot and sweaty sometimes when i’m in sleeping but i figured it was because Fiance is a furnace.

@janetsnakehole: This happens to me periodically. Especially right before my period is due! Try to hold your urine for four hours to ensure it is concentrated enough to pick up a sufficient amount of HCG.

@janetsnakehole: It can take a little while for the test to say positive, some people don’t make enough hormones for a while, and some tests aren’t as sensitive. Also, if you have a problem like an ectopic pregnancy I think you don’t make as many hormones in that case so you may get false negatives.
Some of them say on the box they can detect lower levels of the pregnancy hormones. If it’s still negative tomorrow, wait a week and take it again if you’re still having symptoms. Or, make an appointment with your doc. Hope it all turns out well for you!

I just wanted to chime in- I know what you’re talking about, I’ve had it occasionally in the past, where like for an hour or 2 (in my case) one or both nipples will be like SUPER sensitive, to where it’s really uncomfortable to even have fabric on them! That being said, when I got pregnant one of the first symptoms I did have was that my breasts were really sore, however it wasn’t really the same feeling in my case. There’s no real pain/sensitivity unless they’re being touched, and even then it’s not really sensitivity of the tissue on the nipple, as much as almost the muscle underneath it. Like if I grab one it’ll hurt, or if I’m running or something, essentially if I’m moving them- but if I’m not doing anything like that they don’t hurt. I really hope you get your BFP in the next few days though, every woman is different! 🙂

It always lasts a few hours and it’s usually only one at a time. if it happens when i’m sleeping i’ll dream something awful is happening to my nipples and i wake up holding my arms tightly against them. it’s like they’re frozen but they’re aren’t cold. only heat makes them better. it’s the actual nipples that hurt and it doesn’t matter if anything(bra, tee shirt) is touching them. they ache and the pain radiates out into the rest of the breast. the pain has decreased somewhat, now both breasts just kind of ache. I’m supposed to start my period by next week.
I had to google what BFP meant, and if it means big fat positive then i don’t want that. lol.
we aren’t TTC just yet. my wedding is in 7 months, i’d be so pissed if i were that pregnant on my wedding day. but then again if i turn out to be pregnant we’d make the best of it.
i’m a nanny full time so i love kids, i just want to be able to party at my wedding and not be hugely fat.

@janetsnakehole: you should really visit the doctor and tell him/her about this specific pain.

@blueskies7: the breast/nipple pain has stopped. i’m just suprised that i started my period so early. it seems to be fairly heavy so far but it’s really dark/brown and really clotty.
sorry for the gruesome details.

@janetsnakehole: I have a cyst on my ovary that varies in size…no bigger than about 3cm at any point just about…
This effects my period, and gives me early/late periods very frequently…..this month I was basically on time, maybe early by a day or two, but my cycles are usually 33 days or so….sometimes 40…sometimes 28…
I have it now and i’m VERY clotty and dark…but that is the norm for me for the first 2-3 days.
I’ve had soreness/tenderness the week before but never intense pain that you describe.
I just have a raging headache at the moment and some hot flashes as i’m probably anemic right now.
