Hello, fellow bay arean! πŸ˜€  What part of the bay area are you hoping to be at?  My instinct is parks, recreation centers, and the like.  I’ll do some sleuthing, see if I can’t find something.  Are you hoping to do an outdoor/indoor ceremony/reception? Have you tried herecomestheguide.com?  Sometimes they’ll have something!

The first thing I thought of was the Pulgas Water Temple – http://sfwater.org/index.aspx?page=93, though it would just be for the ceremony.

You just have to obtain a permit to use the grounds, I haven’t any clue how much that will be, but I can’t imagine it will be too much.

@MissThespian:  Yeah, definitely check it out! A friend of a friend of mine had her wedding there and apparently it was really beautiful!  It’s a little further than south/east bay though…more peninsulaish.  Good luck with your search and let us know what else we can help you with! πŸ˜€

This company has several Bay Area locations and they do complete packages so you can definitely have your ceremony and full reception with your budget.  Pricing and packages are all listed online.

Good luck!!

Not sure what part of the bay area you’re from but I would recommend a nice community hall that allows BYOB/BYOC.  Check out city’s websites for community halls, etc.  I did for the area I lived in and I thought Mill Valley Community Center, Heather Farms in Walnut Creek, San Ramon Community Center, San Joaquin Community Center in the Oakland hills is nice too.  I hear a lot of good things about the Brazillian Room in Berkeley, the only problem for me when I was looking was that you were forced to get their caterer and they’re in my opinion, expensive.  Good luck!

My friend got married at the Pulgas Water Temple and she said it was VERY inexpensive! Her pictures turned out AMAZING!

She spent 8k on her entire wedding and it was beautiful.

How much is very inexpensive? $500¿ $2000? My idea of very inexpensive would be $300.

WHOA! I did some googling and the Pulgas Water Temple is $50-$150 to rent! I read that on yelp reviews etc so they could be wrong but the general consensus was $50.

Ooh! I’m so glad to hear all this about the Pulgas Water Temple! Now I know what to suggest to brides in the bay area.  So many venues are just crazy expensive (my own included :D).  Perfect!
