Hello, I’m new here. I found this site looking for recommendations for comfortable wedding shoes.
I have been engaged 2 weeks now. My fiance and I have been together for 11 years (started dating when I was 17). We live in a small town in Ms right outside Memphis,Tn.
I found a venue for the ceremony and reception, a plantation style house with an amazing yard and porch. But I’m at a loss for colors!
The wedding is outside (if it’s not raining or too cold) so there isn’t much decorations needed for that part since mother nature is taking care of that. The inside reception area is mostly white (white chairs, walls (the part that isn’t windows which it mostly is).
I originally thought of purple and light green, but my fav color is blue. I have no real idea what I want. I’m at a loss the blue linen they have is light baby blue and not the shade I want, and my mother said purple and light green would look bad. I’m at a loss!
does purple and light green sound horrible and how do you tie in those colors into the weddng aside from linen and invites?
I’m toying around with using a stamp of love birds to use for the invites, thank yous, favor cards etc.
any ideas would be VERY welcome. Thank you!

Purple and light green sound good to me! But if you love blue you can work that in too. A good thing I learned about greens while looking at inspirations is that it’s easy to work it into centerpieces through flowers and plants. There are a lot of gorgeous purple flowers as well! Is there any way at all to change the linens if you want to do purple and green alone? Or could you do purples and blues with the greenery of the outside as the back drop (to incorporate green)? I also love the look of the love bird theme, there are so many things you can find online if you search for it! Also, with colors, think about what color you’d want the bridal party in to think of what you’d want as your main color! I hope this random assortment of thoughts helps somehow.

@mandb122:
Once I pick the color for the linens all the tables are the same unless I want to pay extra for an overlay (which I don’t have the money to do). The carter will drape the food table with whatever I pick colorwise (both colors so long as she has them).
The venue is all inclusive so they provide linens, tables, chairs, food, bridal party flowers and centerpieces (though you can bring in your own centerpieces). I’m thinking of bringing in my own centerpieces cause they only provide white silk flower ones (which look nice but too plain for what I want).
See I love the color blue but linen they have is a soft powder blue, and I wanted a brighter color.
The purple idea actually came from a dress I wanted my sister (matron of honor) to wear, and the fact that I LOVE purple tulips, and wanted them in my bouquet.
I may do the purple (I think you can mix shades of purple better than you can mix shades of blue and have them not look weird) and use the green just as a accent in the flowers.
LoL I just feel so fickle cause I can’t chose.
