My seamstress did not want to see me any earlier than two months before.

I was so anxious to start alterations that I asked if I could come in early.  They said that it was actually a good time for me to start (February for a June wedding) since they wouldn’t be as busy yet during this time of year.  My wedding is in June 2013 and I just had my first fitting last week (first week of Feb).  I never fluctuate in weight either. I say if the salon lets you, you should go as early as you feel like.

All the bridal shops I have gone to suggest two months before the wedding. It is far enough away so you have time to get it altered, but it is close enough so one’s body shouldn’t change dramatically (change dress size) (which as you said, isn’t a problem for you).

@Stina11287:  Make sure to check with your seamstress. I scheduled my first fitting two months before my wedding and I had to pay a rush fee since it was within 3 months of the date.

I started my fittings in January for our April wedding. I’ve so far had three fittings and have another two to go with the final one being in March

I’m getting married in August, but my first “fitting” is tomorrow. I’m still shopping for a seamstress so it’s to get an idea of the cost. I have one appointment tomorrow and another with another seamstress on Saturday. My next appointment won’t take place until May or June. Both places like to plan 6 months in advance of your wedding date.
