Could you post a picture of the dress? I know some of the bees have amazing memories and know every dress out there, but my memory is pretty fuzzy on dresses 🙁

Wear what you want. Seriously, no-one is going to say “aren’t you a little overdressed for this?”.

I’d love to see a pic though!

Here is a pic for everyone!

@kytten74: I agree that it is your wedding, so there is no way that anyone is going to think you are overdressed!  Wear what you want!  That said, I think if i was to choose, I would say it would look more coordinated if your guy wore a linen suit, but if he wants to wear a guayabera shirt, that’s find too!

Here’s a link: http://www.sotteroandmidgley.com/dress.aspx?style=JSM1307

I think that the dress is very sleek, with minimum bead/bling.  Also, the fabric looks pretty light (correct me if I’m wrong).  I think that if you want to wear it, you should, and it shouldn’t look weird.  You could wear a flower in your hair to “beach it up” more.

As for your fiance, I personally think he should wear what will make him feel good.  The shirt looks quite traditional to me, and could be dressed up a bit depending on the pants he wears.

I think you should each wear what you want. If what he wants to wear is a little bland compared to yours…who cares! If you are happy with it and he is happy with it no one elses oppinion should matter. It is a beautiful dress and if that’s what you want to wear then go for it!

I think this dress would be totally fine for the beach.  I do think that guayabera shirt would be too casual in comparison to the luxurious dress.  I think a linen suit would look amazing, but my question is could he wear a white guayabera shirt under the linen suit so he has that traditional cuban look, but dressed up a little to match you?  Like this:

There are a lot of people who dress-down for the reception. We are planning on doing that because neither of us are comfortable feeling dressy. We are going to wait until after the first dance to change though.

@kytten74: First of all, hey there, Date Twin!

Second, I love the above picture that emilygrace07 posted… I think that your Fiance could wear the traditional shirt under a jacket and then take the jacket off after the ceremony. Skip the tie and all that- the groom in that picture looks casual and comfortable, but still somewhat dressy….

It’s like… beach dressy… which won’t make your dress look out of place at all!
