- Wedding: October 2012
First time caller long time listener, lol, or in this case internet blog stalker. I mean that in the most innocent, flattering, and not scary way. I’m Ms. 157 soon, but not too soon, to be Mrs. 157. After a couple of months of reading everyone’s blogs, DIY projects etc, I figured it was never to soon to get in on the action.
First a little bit about us. We’re not your average first time engaged couple. We’ve both been there done that, have t-shirts and children as proof. I’m 36 and he’s 42. My daughter is 13; his son is 20. We’ve both been married before and want a wedding that is about all of the ‘right’ things. We plan to have a party….smallish (40-75ppl) with the people we love the most, more than likely at our home. Date, location, colors, etc, TBD…. which leads me to my first topic ‘When is it right to start planning your wedding’
So, Mr 157 and I haven’t really nailed down many details with regards to our ‘big’ day. We’ve gone between next spring (no later than May – after then it’s too hot for an outdoor shindig) and next fall (Octobert at the latest). We know his son and my daughter will be the only members of our wedding party. The wonderful friend who introduced us is going to marry us (our gift to her; she caught all kinds of grief from her hubby for playing match maker). And we’re shooting for a budget of less than $3000 – really more like $2000 (gotta plan for that as well). Beyond that, we really haven’t talked about anything. Should we be?? And, is it weird that even though I know we’re potentially more than a year away from the big day I can’t stop thinking about all of the details? My A type mind is in over drive and all of you have given me so much to think about. So, am I really far off the mark? Should I be pressing Mr 157 to nail down the details or should I just ‘secrety’ prepare things and not bother him? He knows I’m ‘ate up’ as he’d say….But, he doesn’t seem to mind oh yeah and I’ve already got ‘THE DRESS'($30…pics to be posted soon)
