I return stuff when it’s not what it was supposed to be.  I just returned a paper punch because it really sucked.  The lady at Joann’s was like ‘well is this actually broken?’ im like ‘no, it’s fine, it just sucked right out of the box’ she didn’t want to let me return it.  I was looking at the back of the receipt like ‘it says if I’m unsatisfied for any reason I can return it…this is me being unsatisfied. Give me my 9.99 back!’

We bought 3 long sleeve shirts at Wally World and after washing the 3 of them they all shrunk and didn’t fit AT ALL…so they were returned a month later…The girl there said, “these look really dirty,” Oh well lady….I got my money back… 🙂

@piglet_625: Bahaha. I also worked at a grocery store for a long time and we got people trying to return produce all the time without receipts! Really?!

@kelly105: this was one of those cute little make a shape paper punches.  It was supposed to cut a bordered fence pattern, but it didn’t have accurate lines to make a continuous pattern and after about 15 tries I freaked out and brought it back immediately lol.

OP were you able to return the juicer? I’m really tempted to buy one as I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks. I just worry that I will be like you and not that into juicing. We have a tiny kitchen so I’m concerned about counter space too 🙂

Bah, I hate returning things. I’ve worked too many times in retail. It would make me grit my teeth every time someone tried to return clothes that have clearly been worn (especially worn and washed). I started flat out refusing (because, it clearly says in the return policy for most clothing stores that washed and/or worn clothes are nonreturnable).

Returning magazines… that’s the worst. It was against my store’s return policy, and people would still get livid with me when I tried telling them no. Seriously, who tries to return magazines?

I have a story about refusing a return, which I still kind of feel bad about:

I worked as a supervisor at a national book store. We were told, per our jerk of a district manager, that under no circumstances were we allowed to take back ereaders we’ve sold. So, an ungracious couple came in and were complaining that their ereader wasn’t what they wanted because it was missing an important feature that they assumed it would have. I told them no at first apologetically, and they got downright ugly, and I decided nope, this time, I’m not going to let them win. So, I told them maybe they should research things like that before they invest money in them, and they were stuck with an ereader they couldn’t return. I’m surprised they didn’t continue to argue with me.

Not my finest moment, and I still feel bad about it. I’m surprised I didn’t get a letter of complaint about that.

I return things all the time!  I will but an article of clothing and if I don’t wear it within 2 weeks, I take it back.  No sense wasting that money.  Also, if it turns out to be bad quality or not what I expected I take it back.  I don’t buy makeup and stuff from a store unless I can return it opened (like Sephora) and I always tell them it’s been used.  You just never know if the makeup will be right.

@murmur: I’m with you on this. I wouldn’t return something I’d used just to save money, but I definitely return things when they don’t work the way I expect them to. All. The. Time.

I return stuff all the time but its either new or defective.  Returning used stuff because you don’t like it or you broke it is shady IMO and it drives costs up for the rest of us.  Hope you aren’t voting republican if you are pulling that ish.  (sorry had to squeeze that in there).

I work in a retail store and I had a lady try to return a waste basket that she had used for TWO YEARS because the rope that raps around the bottom was starting to unwind, OMG there is a thing called super glue… please use it!! She tried to argue with me about it and made me call customer relations, which I did and the guy said it was valued at 1.98 now, if she wanted to return it… lol She freaked out and left after a good half hour arguement with me. crazy lady!
