Can’t believe its May already! For this month we are:

  • Meeting with the florist to drop off items she needs from us and finalize all the details (plus give her my $300 off coupon which a friend won and gave me!!!!)
  • printing programs and possibly starting to cut them
  • wondering when we will get our syrup favors so we can begin tieing the tags on
  • sending invites
  • Printing and getting rehearsal dinner invites ready to send in June
  • trying out a new nail salon near my venue (hope this works!)
  • organizing our kitchen and closets to fit all of our lovely shower gifts

And I think thats it. My sister graduates from college this month so that is our #1 focus plus we have a lot done so just trying to enjoy the last 3 months of being engaged.

@VermontBride13:  No, but I wish! There’s actually a blow-out sale going on THE DAY BEFORE we land there. :'( Oh well, I already have my dress, so I would really just be wasting money if I bought another one there at the blow-out…. but it would have been sooo tempting.

Ack how is it May already!?!?  This year is flying by already for me!  What to do what to do…

  • send out invitations
  • buy plants for centerpieces (FI is going to buy starters and grow them up over summer… something like that, I’m not sure as he is in charge and has the plan in his head!)
  • spray paint centerpiece decorations
  • follow up with bridesmaids re: ordering dresses
  • hopefully FI’s sample suit will get in and all the grooms/bridesmen can order theirs
  • get together with my Maid/Matron of Honor and try out a nail salon
  • finalize reception dinner plans/guest list

On top of all the wedding planning, Fiance and I are super busy at work… and have decided to try and buy a house… things are a little crazy right now!

    1. Push the Fiance to finish up the invitations.  If they’re not ready to mail before June 1st then I’m going to rush order from Costco and add another $400 to the budget.  His family is wondering when they’ll get them.

      1. Get stricter with myself over my diet!  I’m running outside, but eating too much, so made no progress last month on losing the 8 pounds I need to in order to lift my arms in my dress.  We ate out for dinner far too much last month.

        1. Get Fiance to try on his suit, again, and take it in to get altered, if necessary.  See if I can get him to commit to the tie I bought as well.

          1. Buy and install heel liners and anti-skid bottoms for my shoes.

            1. Talk to my future BIL about whether he will play guitar at our wedding.  FI says he really doesn’t want to, but I’d like to have the conversation firsthand without the “big brother” mental filter (anyone else think their siblings find their wedding a nuisance?).

I’ve had a busy first three days of May! I’ve already achieved the following:

            – Hair consultation (did that this morning and I LOVE the direction we’re going in) — COMPLETE!

            – Confirm hair and make up trials (make up trial scheduled for the day of my bridal shower) — COMPLETE!

            – Dress fitting #2! Hem and bustle are in place.  — COMPLETE!

            – Buy Groom’s ring — COMPELTE!

            – Pay the photographer — COMPLETE! One more payment to go!

            What’s left:

            – Buy garter set

            – Buy statement necklace

            – Buy table numbers and frames

            – Print sign for favors. I bought the frame yesterday. It will look like this:

             – Take engagement photos. Hoping the rain will hold out next Tuesday Undecided

            – Schedule alterations for bridesmaids

            – Send out invitations on May 20th-ish!

            – I have GOT to finish up my invites! I need to cut up about 60 strips of ribbon, attach it all together, and put them on the invites. Then I need to address all the envelopes. Oh, and I have to buy outer envelopes. And stamps for all the envelopes. And why am I still on wedding bee when I have so much to do… ??!

            – I need to find flowers to plant for my bouquet. I’m going to do a mix of garden flowers and grocery store flowers.

            – Coordinate with FGMIL on what decorations I’m thinking of and whether they’ll look good in the yard.

            – Try out my summer corn recipe!

            – Order my wedding favors.

@TammieRei:  I really wanted to get mine there too! I am from NJ so only about 15-20 mins away BUT they have tax in NY and I think their prices are higher so we didn’t get to go. But a huge sale might have been a good idea. Did you find shoes or anything?

            Whew, productive weekend:

            – program chalkboard 1/2 done

            – trial painted some votive holders

            – put together backdrop; need to cut it down more (I followed a tutorial and it’s way too tall)

            – nearly finished printing off envelopes (still need to do a few for international guests), assembling, stamping, attaching return address labels; just need to put a decorative stamp (the ink kind) on the back

            Still need to:

            – purchase ties for the boys (probably don’t need to do this in May)

            – stamp “thank you” tags for favors (literally just bought the tags on Etsy two seconds ago)

            – cut tulle for backdrop

            – paint chalkboard frame

            – paint votives
