As long as you want the dress and it is able to bought, that’s all that matters. Whether the dress is from a few seasons ago or this season doesn’t matter at all.

I don’t think it matters one bit. As long as you love it, go for it!!!

I agree.  No one is going to to know what season it is from.  And sometimes older styles are less expensive so you get a bargain.  Can you imagine your daughter 20 years from now saying, “OMG, Mom, that dress was obviously four seasons out of style.”  Dresses are timeless and it doesn’t matter in the long run.

The only concern I would mention, is make sure everything goes perfectly with your order.  If the salon is ordering and they get the wrong size or color, you might not be able to rush a replacement dress because older dresses are more likely to be discontinued.  I suppose this is always a risk with any dress, but it’s just something to be mindful of.  Maybe ask the salon to double check things before the order goes out.

I didn’t know  until I bought my dress that it was an older style, but after going to like 8 different stores I didn’t care anymore. If you love something I think you should go for it.

MaddieD:  I tried on like 30+ dresses and I was really close to buying a new just came out Mori Lee, but then I went to a different store and literally the last dress that I had pulled ended up being the one… It was a discontinued Maggie Sottero. because it was discontinued I bought it that day (for not even the greatest discount). After searching online for it afterward I realized it was from like 5 years ago! It kinda bothered me but then when the dress got here (I had to leave it at my parents house in Iowa when I bought it), I put it on and got that feeling all over again, so I’m glad I went with my gut and got it despite it’s age.

I have gotten worried a few times again since then because I searched the bee for it and only saw like 3 posts come up, and some of the comments about the dress were really negative but I love it so that’s what matters most.. right? lol

I’m sure your dress will be stunning.

MaddieD:  Get the dress you love!  I did tons of research before going shopping so everything I saw online and in mags was new.  However, the dress I ended up buying is from 2012.  They just happened to have it in store, and while it wasn’t anything I really pictured getting, once I tried it on, I loved it. I’m obsessed!
