With a 2ct, I would say a double is a bit much for my taste. I would stick to one halo… or even go without one! I’m more simplistic if that matters. 🙂

Yes, I think that’s too big! I would say 1.5 cts would be the biggest I’d go with the double halo. Though, personally I’d prefer a 2ct with no halos.

@Lovebirds13:  You should have what you like.  I don’t like single stones personally but thats not saying they arent beautiful!  I wanted something that made a statement.  Im not a girly girl… not extravagent… im just part raccoon (attracted to shiny objects!).  I have a 4.25 size finger and a 2carat round center stone, with one halo around it.  If this helps…  This was the best lighting I could get….

@Lovebirds13:  Go big!! If he can afford it, then get it. Or else you might end up complaining how small your ring is.

Only way for you to know if its too big is to try it on, or something similar. What you may think is too big differs from our opinion.

@Lovebirds13:  I personally don’t like double halos, so I’d go with either single halo or no halo at all.  But you really should go with what makes yOu happy!  I have a 2.2ct center diamond on size 4.5 ring if this helps

I wouldn’t do a double halo with a 2 ct center. One halo would be big enough.

@Lovebirds13:  Really depends on the double halo. If it’s very nice and thin like the Tiffany Soleste, then go for it, but if it’s much bigger than that then it can look a bit gaudy.

I love some halos but dislike others.. you should probably get some pics for your Fiance and learn how the size of diamonds (“points” they’re called) for the halo work.

I’m a size 3 and got a 2.1 ct round diamond with a single halo and after wearing it for a year I think it’s so big I’ma ctually having it reset. My new setting will have no halo at all.

I would go with one halo because your fingers are so tiny

@Lovebirds13:  I agree with those who said that you need to try on some rings to ascertain what your comfort limit for “too big” is.

We all have different tastes regarding stone size – some here think “go big or go home”  – some think anything over 1 carat is “gauche”.

I have similar ring size to you and I think for me 1.5 carat with a single halo or 2 carat solitaire would be at the limit of my comfort zone – it will also be the point where the ring would attract lots comments, positive and negative. People grabbing your hand to have a look etc. Would you be comfortable with that? I wouldn’t do a double halo.

Good luck and be sure to come back and post lots of pics!!

@nl:  That is stunning!

OP, I have a double halo but only a .30 centre stone. It’s perfect for me, but look at my short fingers….

In my personal opinion, yes, that is way too big. I’m a 4.5 and my personal comfort level would be a .5 center with a halo.
