Hi so my 17 m.o has been diagnosed with hands foot and mouth disease. I’ve been rotating between Tylenol and Motrin for comfort measures. Is there any tips you can give to help soothe him (if your child’s ever had it). He’s had a fever for over 24 hours but the doctors are not concerned( it’s 100.8 and not going down even with the medicine). He isn’t eating due to the sores in the mouth nor drinking 🙁 any tips would be greatly appreciated!

My nephew just had this. Lots of soup and snuggles got him through it. I hear it’s just a waiting game. I think he was battling it for about a week.

Popsicles? There’s not a ton you can do unfortunately. 🙁

Popsicles, jello, pudding, Pedialyte, Pedialyte popsicles, anything you can do to keep him hydrated and get the fever down. Once my son’s fever went away, the sores started to fade. He had them in his throat too so I totally understand the challenge to get him to eat or drink but I would just keep offering things that are soothing on his throat until he takes them.
