Google infinity dresses, they come in maxi styles, and you can get them fairly reasonable off etsy.  The pics will give you an idea as to how they work with different body types.  Before I got an amazing deal on my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, these were what I had narrowed it down to because of the body type variation.

CottonCotton can work, but a lot depends on your dress.  Too much material texture contrast and your dress can end up looking blah.  Mine is matte lace over champagnesaltine, so I went with blended fabric with ashine of shine.

Henkaa.com Is awesome. i had bridesmaids of all different sizes. Materials is light  and you can get either short or long. They are convertible dresses and can convert into whatever look you’re looking for. They only have two sizes 2-14 and 14-24, no alterations necessary. There are many different colors to choose from too!

Try ordering online from a Chinese site? Over here in Los Angeles, we have lots of local Spanish shops with dresses. I was recently a Bridesmaid or Best Man in a wedding, with all smalls and extra smalls…. and I am plus size. The dress was a long length sweetheart shape neckline and I got compliments the whole night. (Guess since I was the odd man out not being a size 2, lol).

I love the convertible dresses, I was sad when my BMs did not want them. If you look on etsy you can find ones made out of jersey knit, which is a stretchy cotton material like a nice, soft T-Shirt.

@adielej:  the only downside to this dress is that the back makes it hard to wear a bra. If any of your girls are over a C cup they will most likely be more comfortable with a bra. Those sticky bras do not work for anything over a c cup either.

I think it’s really sweet when brides allow their BMs to pick out their own styles – you could choose a designer and a color (and maybe a legnth- sounds like you want maxi dresses?), but let them decide on strapless, one-sleeve, with straps, etc.

I live in Houston where it’s hot almost year-round, and cotton dresses will stick you you in the heat – it’s probably not the best dress for a beach wedding, and to honest, I think there are other fabrics that would photograph better. I am ALWAYS stunned by chiffon dresses at beach weddings – they photography really, really nicely, they are comfy since they breathe well, and they are loose and flowy so they’ll look beautiful with the wind blowing through them. I would check out J. Crew’s silk chiffon Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, which come in a lot of styles (and come in graphite!), or Target’s knock-off dresses, which are all under $100:

(that’s one of them – the Target website is really slow right now so I can’t copy and paste any more of the pics! But if you Google “Target bridesmaid dresses” you’ll see them!)

The J. Crew dresses are pricey but you could buy them used, that’s what my BMs did. We found a lot of them on eBay.

Personally, i would tell them a dress designer and colour, or i would tell them just a colour range and let them pick their dresses. They are already having to pay for a destination wedding, letting them choose their dresses would guarentee they get some more use out of it than the one time for your wedding.

This is what i’m doing.  And i want them all to love their dress so they can wear it whenever they want.
