I only had 4 Bridesmaids and we did short dresses, but everyone is built so differently that letting them pick within a set of parameter made the most sense. We used Alfred Angelo and they have tons of styles for under $200! Here’s a pic for reference of how it turned out…I think they look pretty damn fab 🙂

One thing I really tried to take into account with my girls and different sizes is what kind of undergarments they would need to look good in the dress. For that reason, I chose not to do strapless and did something that would allow them to wear a normal bra. I know that’s a tall order in a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, but larger-busted girls often struggle with strapless bras. Some dresses fit nice and tight though and that helps with a strapless. I just wouldn’t do something that is kind of loose AND they can’t wear a regular bra.

I wore Henkka to a wedding in the hot summer and it was PERFECT there were 6 of us and we all had VERY different bodies!

The reason I went with the style I chose was because it procided full coverage, so everyone could wear a real bra. All my girls are Dear Daughter or bigger. Me too, wedding dress shopping was not fun. I wear an H. I vote for anything in the price range that allows for better support options, and I second looking online at stores like Targent, Sears, JCPenney, Nordstrom. I got my Bridesmaid or Best Man at Macy’s for a steal. It’s formal season right now (prom, homecoming, military ball), and if you are willing to invest the time looking, you can find great deals.

Also, have you looked at weddingtropics.com? They are under $200 typically, and they custom make them to your measurements, they are all really beach friendly fabrics.

I’m using Kennedy Blue bridesmaids dresses. They are chiffon, light and airy and perfect for the beach, but they all have really great structure in the top — which is great no matter what your body type! There are 6 different long styles, they all come in charcoal, and are all under $200. Here’s the link:
And here are some of the options:

I agree with the above posters. Give them some perameters, and let them choose their own dresses.

this is the dress I’m using too! My bridemaids are ranging in size from 2-24- i loved the material. For this type of dress it is still flattering on plus sizes and multiple body shapes!

three of my bridesmaids are size c and above and were able to wrap the dress in a style that allowed them to wear a full bra (not even just strapless). Henkaa also sells bandeaus in matching colours and fabrics for extra coverage!

The one thing to be careful of with maxi dresses is that they need to be pretty low waisted to avoid pregnant belly syndrome. The ones @mattiek posted will be better than some of the others.

Just pick a designer, fabric and color and let them chose the dress. For my girls, I gave them the option of 3 Bill Levkoff chiffon dresses in Navy.

my girls loved them. Cuz for once they can Actually wear this dress again and again.

we went with the gypsy dress!! every single one of the girls LOVED it and loved that they can wear it again. one of my BM’s already owns one in a different color and she has huge knockers and still loves it lol… so I wonder if they can have bra’s custom sewn into the dress… anyone have experience with alterations?
