Next week I am going to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friends wedding…. I have this beautiful backless bridesmaid dress, and have been planning on wearing it sans bra despite being a 34 C/D (due to it being very welll made and having adequate cup-like coverage in the front, one day without much support I figured wouldn’t kill me!).
The problem, born out of a huge blessing: After a 3 year journey with infertility and two miscarriages, I found out last week that am inexplicably pregnant! Hubby and I are complete psyched, and it is too soon to tell anyone (especially with my history), but This week Ive started to encounter the age old ‘extremely sore boobs’ symptom.
Bees, my girls are super sensitive and super painful. Even getting up in the middle of the night to pee without the support of a bra is terrible.
I honestly don’t think I can make it through a full day of pictures, dancing and more without some support…. but the idea of a sticky bra on my nipples also makes me want to cry, and I don’t know how supportive those hints are anyways. I tried doing a strapless bra with extender, and it just pulls it down, and then I tried doing the extender with convertible bra and clear plastic straps but my husband (who I will love to death, but isn’t exactly observant) immediately noticed them and said it did not look ok.
Help!! Any suggestions, thoughts or advice? Or maybe even just some solid commiserating (men never have to deal with this junk! 😂) Thanks for any help!

first of all CONGRATULATIONS! I hope the some of the pain goes away for the big day. I am not really sure to suggest but hopefully some of the bees there will be able to help you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! That is a beautiful dress too. Unfortunately I don’t have any helpful advice but I just had to pop in to say congrats.

CONGRATS! What a beautiful dress! Would you be able to find a strapless bralette of the same color to wear? You could try to pull it down as low as possible! I will say from experience do not waste your money on the sticky bras. ZERO support and a waste of money despite what Amazon reviews say. I just recently got married and had the same issue. The problem was solved by having petals sewed into the boob area but my dress was a little different on top than this one so I am not sure if that would work with yours. I would def try to find a bralette. Maybe talk to the bride and tell her that you are concerned about a wardrobe malfunction the more you think about it with the dress and maybe she would be ok with a a pretty colored bralette that shows a bit. Best of luck!

congrats! This dress is bra impossible. I would have the front closed higher and wear a typical low back bra.

Congratulations! Could you go sans bra through the ceremony and photos then add a regular and supportive bra with cardigan to hide the back through the reception/dancing? Maybe even close the cardigan if the bra shows in the front too?
J Crew Factory has some pretty wrap cardigans discounted.

Congratulations! No creative bra tricks here, but in my experience the sticky bra will just weigh them down more as they aren’t meant to be supportive, just to hide nips and create more cleavage.

I have a sticky bra from Victoria’s Secret that works great. The cups themselves are not sticky. There are clear plastic sticky panels on the side that wrap around your ribs. I’m a C cup and I’ve danced at weddings and had zero problems with it!
I don’t see it on the VS website anymore, but here it is on poshmark https://poshmark.com/listing/Victorias-Secret-Style-Secrets-Invisible-Shaping-59a97ced930394d2890d9b2a?utm_source=gdm&gdm_bottom=false&campaign_id=748079237&utm_campaign=748079237&enable_guest_buy_flow=true&gclid=CjwKCAjwssvPBRBBEiwASFoVdzo5IrTmuKlyJ_4fxbGjRVWDcmZYIgXyoDDtDzSoSVowceU5Q3JrlRoCrm4QAvD_BwE

What about something like this? Iwould wear this over my bra, nude would show a little but still look soft and feminine. It would be awesome if you could find one in the dress color but that seems like it would be a challenge.

Oh this is neat! Do you own this bodysuit?? Would love to get one myself.
OP, I would put on a bra immediately after pictures and wear a shawl around your shoulders for the night. Just say you’re chilly!

congrats on your pregnancy. DS and current pregnacy are our IVF miracles so i understand about being so cautious in the beginning.
i had a breast reduction almost 10 years ago to a 34 c/d so i don’t think that is big at all. i went to a wedding a few months ago and wore the sticky bra. i was surprised at how supportive it was. there are a few different styles they come in. i got the one that sticks to your sides but fits and looks like a regular bra in front.

nope, just found it on the interwebs =D. Good luck!

I love the PP’s body suit suggestion with the low back. That would be perfect.

That bodysuit looks great. I would check for it or something similar at Nordstrom or maybe through Wolford as they have a lot of good quality lingerie options.
Failing that, I would try your regular bra but leave the back hook open. Fold in the back piece (under your arms). I did this by accident once (unhooked my bra to start getting undressed and then got distracted) and it felt almost like I was wearing my regular bra.
If you are good at sewing you can even cut off the back piece totally and sew the end of the shoulder strap into the edge of the cup.
ends up looking kind of like this:
good luck and congratulations!!!!
