I’ve been veggie for about 3 years and I have had a lot of trial and luckily not much error!
Look up recipes on Pintrest – that will help you get started so easily.
Go to fave recipes are sweet potato bbq burgers (seriously, make these, obsessed!), bbq or buffalo cauliflower bites, baked spaghetti, stir fry w/ tofu.
I agree with all of the other bees, definitely try to avoid the processed imitation meats in excess. They are high in calories and not great for you. They do have significant amounts of nutrients so having them a couple times a week will be OK for sure. Gardein chik’n strips and Beyond Meat burgers are SO GOOD.
Nutritional yeast is AMAZING. Its like crack to me! I put it on pasta, veggies, and make sauces with it too. You can get it at Whole Foods and usually any type of “health” foods store.
Good luck on your journey! It will be great.

Oh no, I’m not even sure I’ll eat meat substitutes. Was just curious in case, though. I really want to try the nutritional yeast, but my grocery store didn’t have it. Are there different kinds? Supposedly Target has it. And those menu ideas sound really tasty! I’ve been wanting to try buffalo cauliflower! And sweet potato bbq sounds goooood! Thank you!

As long as it says “nutritional yeast” then they are pretty much all the same. You can even order it from Walmart if you can’t find it locally. As for the meat substitutes, I’ve only been eating them occasionally for about 6 months. I was kinda grossed out by the idea of fake meats for a long time! Recently have been trying them just to broaden my eating horizons a little more. The Beyond Meat burgers have been a life saver though with my SOs family because they love to grill out and I could tell they felt bad about not having anything for me to eat off the grill. Once we found these, my SOs dad thinks its fun that I’m “eating burgers” with everyone else!

Commenting to follow. I am newly veggie and love new suggestions.

Found some nutritional yeast last night. Woot! That’s so cute about your SO’s dad “eating burgers”, too. Aw. That’s a good idea to keep those on hand for something like that!
I’m hoping I can figure out more to eat than garbanzos and sweet potatoes. Actually I’ve been eating meatless meals for years, but it seems now that I google vegetarian recipes, that’s all I see. LOL! Last night I made a garbanzo and sunflower seed sandwich and my husband totally crinkled his nose up at it, but said it wasn’t THAT bad. Haha!
