I really think it depends on what shade of brown you are. I thiwhip urge white looks beautiful on darker brown skin and ivory looks better on medium to fair brown skin but that’s just my opinion. My dress is ivory and I’m sort of medium/dark with yellow undertones

@Shaundanae:  I agree. Darker skin girls dresses pop against their skin when they are gleaming white. Whereas on a lighter skinned girl, the white is harsh and clashes. Washes her out. They need something softer.

I have warm undertones and I really like ivory. That said, I ended up choosing a dress that was white with gold/beige beading and lace on the chest of the dress and the accents compliment my tone nicely so that the white isn’t too overpowering with my tan.

I’m sorry, I just answered that, not realizing the question was aimed at A/A brides! If it makes a difference, I think that white looks nicer. Embarassed

Yeah, in the bridal world “ivory” is really light, more of a warm, creamy off-white. Outside of bridal contexts, ivory is often a little darker and more yellowish or grayish, but where wedding dresses are concerned it’s more like “white” means “white with cool undertones” while “ivory” means “almost-white with warm undertones”

@Shaundanae:  I agree, pure white really pops on very rich, dark, coffee color skin tones. Really most bright colors look fantastic with a very dark skin color contrast. I often wish I was darker just to be able to wear bright colors so flawlessly. Alek Wek, IMO, is stunningly gorgeous in pure white.
