Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (technically off of the Atlantic, but the other side of the island is off of the Caribbean) has TONS AND TONS of all-inclusive resorts.  We stayed at Excellence, and I’ve also heard wonderful things about Dreams, Iberostar and the Hard Rock.

I haven’t gone yet but we booked at the The Jewel Dunn’s River Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I’ve been to Jamaica before but stayed at the Grand Lido in Negril the last time (great service but the amenities are outdated). The Jewel received really good reviews on TripAdvisor so we went for it! 🙂

PS: As long as you stick with guided tours and excursions in Jamaica – safety isn’t an issue. I went cliff jumping, climbed the falls, etc. all off-resort and it was awesome!

PPS: My Fiance and I also stayed a La Zebra Resort in Tulum, Mexico. It is a beautiful eco-friendly resort but not the place to be if you are looking for 5 Stars and ample amenities. It’s much more of the “don’t mind if we shower in salt water and don’t have air conditioning” kind of places that is meant for relaxation! Food was amazing though!

We’re going to Couples Swept Away in Jamaica. I haven’t been yet, but I’m an obsessive vacation researcher and the Couples resorts seem to be the best all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica for the price! (Also, since a PP mentioned the Excellence in Punta Cana, check out their website – I just got a Travelzoo email that mentioned they were having a sale right now!)

I’ve been to a few locations in the Caribbean.. Jamaica, Cancun, Puerta Vallarta (mexico), Cozumel, Grand Caymen.. BY FAR my favorite was Cancun. But, it all depends on what type of atmosphere you’re looking for. Cancun is lively, upbeat, crowded and has a lot to see/do. Jamaica we felt almsot trapped in our resort, the island itself is very poor and a little scary. Grand Caymen was gorgeous, more Americanized.. Puerta Vallarta was a little more laid back and calm.

We’re going to Cancun for our Honeymoon, staying in the heart of the hotel zone and I can’t wait.. I always recommend Cancun to people looking for somewhere in the Caribbean!

@MsMindle:  We booked our Honeymoon here through CheapCaribbean.com! While it rained nearly everyday, we still had a blast!! You will LOVE it! The staff is soooo friendly, the food is great! The beach area is small, but when we were there, it was never packed and we always found open chairs!

The Excellence Riviera Maya in Mexico. Honestly the best trip I’ve ever taken! My younger brother just went there in April for his honeymoon too and they had an amazing time! I would recommend it a million times over!

We haven’t gone yet, but we’re going to the Sandals resort in the Bahamas for our anniversary trip later this year. They have a private island and it looks amazing!

Please go to the Marriott Renaissance in Aruba – it was amazing with its own private island and the steakhouse was part of the all-inclusive!  We loved it!
