I am getting married in January and am looking for an indoor/outdoor venue to host the ceremony and reception. I would love an outdoor ceremony but I want the option of having it indoors just in case of weather. I am looking at about 50-60 people. Does anyone know of any good places in Northern California? Southern California? Thanks

I’m from the South but try looking at wedding websites at vendors. Theknot.com has a place on the site where you can look up your state/region and they have suggested vendors. Good luck!

Are you near the Bay Area? Herecomestheguide.com is a good resource. Let us know a few more details so we can narrow things down for you!

The East Bay Regional Parks District has two nice sites in Oakland (Lake Temescal Beach House) and Berkeley (Brazilian Room). The Brazilian Room is in pretty high demand, but you might luck out with a winter wedding. Depending on your price range, a few others might be the Presidio in SF, Piedmont Community Hall in Piedmont, Montclair Women’s Cultural Arts Club in Oakland, or a whole bunch in Marin (check HCTB).

I am having my wedding at the LA Arboretum and it’s inexpensive (for your size wedding, $500 for ceremony and $500 for reception). However, most sites to choose from at the Arboretum don’t have an indoor option and the fee only includes use of the grounds.
At first I was planning on a Bay Area wedding, and I really, REALLY wanted to have it in this beautiful garden/historic home. I think the prices are actually really reasonable, they are listed on the site (for once! how annoying is wedding-related stuff with the way they never list prices…). There are some limitations with this venue (like timing & no amplified music) but it seems like it would be supremely lovely to me. Worth the trade-offs:
Best of luck to you!!

thanks for the info-
I am looking for something similar to the historic house/garden or even a hall that is nice and reasonably priced.
I will look into the websites suggested! Thanks

In northern california – try preservation park in oakland or mountain terrace in woodside,ca – both aren’t more than 2K which is a bargain in the bay area

You may want to Google Wedgewood Banquets. They have locations throughout CA with outdoor ceremony and indoor receptions.

My choice if I got married in the Bay Area would have been Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto. Love the beautiful garden especially the Rose Garden.
