Hi ladies and gents.
I need a bit of help, somehow i have ended up with a theme which is not something i thought would happen so now i have to try and pull it all together.
I love skulls and roses and everything gothic so my theme has ended up being love never dies, so what i need help with is how i can pull it together and not have it look uber tacky.
So far i know i am having a dimante skull hairclip with feathers to go with my birdcage veil, i am trying to find either skull cravats or skull cravat pins for the boys and the boquets are going to have a single dimante skull brooch in them and my centrepieces are candleabras with climbing red roses… this is as far as i have got so suggestions and pictures would be most welcome.
Oh and i want regular skulls not sugar skulls.
Thank you 🙂

You’re not alone. I love your theme. If you haven’t joined us on offbeatbride.com yet I highly recommend it.
I’ve seen some really beautiful black candelabras, very elegant.
What color scheme are you thinking?

@Bebealways: red white and black… i had origionally planned a lovey art deco wedding then i realised there was nothing of me and my FI in it so i added some things and i’ve ended up with a theme.

@nearly-mrs-R: I would say to stick to just a few elements. You don’t want it to be campy or over the top. I also suggest offbeat bride!

@nearly-mrs-R: How cool is this?
I just saw this cake topper on google images and looks like it might fit your theme!
Maybe these images will give you some inspiration
This garter is from ETSY

We’re using Sugar skulls, but you could always swap in a reg skull. Here’s some of what we’re doing…
groomsmen suit and tie…can be tucked in for no-skull pics
sweetheart table decor
oot baskets with…
sideawys but these are our engraved wine glass favors
one of our e-pics…
most of our wedding will be fairly traditional…it’s more in the details for us. I’ll also be switching into a black reception dress with a beautiful short black veil 🙂

@icetea: I’ve came across some of your wedding ideas on here before and i love them!! i have been trying to find some normal bride and groom skulls but they all look a lil bit kiddies cartoonlike. Think i’m gonna have to get my mister to bust out the photoshop and make me something.

@nearly-mrs-R: Thanks! FI designed ours in adobe illustrator. I think it really led to him feeling involved…when everything is using something he designed 🙂

Just had my Fi make some skulls and add them to our invite inserts, they are still alittle rough need to tweak them but all in all i’m really happy with them…Yey for creative FI’s.

Well one thing i love about your theme is that you can even make skulls look classy. I would just be careful not to let it fall to far into the halloween theme. i would suggest maybe throw a little silver in with your color. 😀

I love this idea! I wanted to do a theme like this originally, but my husband said no. Here’s the pic that inspired me (Lovers of Valdaro)
