I am planning a wedding in lake Tahoe but I live bout 4 hours from there. I want a beach ceremony and a reception outdoors. Possible indoors. Only for about 30-50 people and trying to stay under 10,000 for everything from start to finish!
I am going to Tahoe in two weeks to look at some places. But I’m not sure where To start. Right now I’m looking at a packfrom that includes ceremony on the beach at lakeside beach. Reception at blue angle loft with food table chairs and linen for little under 4 grand. I really don’t know where to look for anything. Is that a pretty beach?do you suggest some place else? What about a dj and a photographer? Please ANY help or information is greatly appreciated!

My best friend got married at the Hyatt Incline Village and it was insanely gorgeous and fun, but she definitely spent more than $10,000. I also have some friends that got married at Chambers Landing and loved it, and I think it could be perfect for a smaller wedding like yours.

@SerenaSF: Oooh, I loved Incline Village!
It depends if you want North or South Lake Tahoe. I’ve only been around the north (Kings Beach, Incline Village, etc), I wouldn’t know much about the south.
Alot of the ski resorts are close by enough that you can get married on the beach and then head up to the resorts for a function?

My suggestion would be to look at stylemepretty.com and greenweddingshoes.com and ruffledblog.com and search for “tahoe” to see where those brides had their events. I saw on on the water.
I would have exhausted my internet reserach endeavors before I head to Tahoe. If you google “lake tahoe weddigns” there are quite a few general wedding websites. You can look for venues that way.
Are there any restaurants on the water? I’d use Google Maps and look for restaurants and see which are closest to the water.

@jayebee: Hi, I lived in Tahoe for four years (Incline Village). It’s a pretty expensive area but definitely beautiful! Some nice places are:
Tunnel Creek Lodge
There might also be a nice marina and beach in Zephyr Cove that you could arrange to be married at.
A lot of the beaches get crowded at different times of the year, so try to find a vendor with a private beach.
However, the two lodges I listed have really nice views and I think Thunderbird might also have a private little cove.

You might want to check into Regan Beach or Timber Cove. North Tahoe Event Center is a good one too.
In regards to a photographer or other vendors, there are some in the Tahoe area or you can look into bringing one from a nearby city that has more choices. Many vendors will travel a bit. Good luck!

We vacation at the Hyatt in Incline Village during 4th of July. OMG is it an amazing wedding venue. We saw a ceremony on their lawn, with the reception in the Lone Eagle restaurant. It was gorgeous. Or even the reception out on the lawn would be so nice!

Hi Neighbor!!! I am not sure if you would be interested in a wedding planner (either before or day of only) but mine has done several weddings at Tahoe. She is based out of Sacramento.
So on to recommendations my co-workers daughter JUST got married in Tahoe with 55 guests at Murphy’s Irish Pub. She said the total cost was around $4,000 (I think) and it apparently turned out really nice. It is located in South Lake Tahoe.
Here is their website: http://www.murphyspubtahoe.com/weddings.php

I am getting married in June in Tahoe and Im going through Blue Angel Weddings. They had the best deal I found for 100 guests. My wedding is almost $7000 including food and beer and wine. They have lots of packages to choose from! We are getting married in Zephyr Cove, Round Hill Pines Beach and having the reception at the Blue Angel Cafe. Ali, the event coordinater is awesome and very pleasant to work worth. She has answered all my questions for me and always responds back right away. Good Luck!

@jayebee: I’ve had my wedding with Blue Angel in May 2011! Ali, the wedding coordinator is amazing! Rosie, one of the owners is also very nice too! We also had the italian buffet and the food was amazing!! I highly recommend them! I also had to do the planning online because we live in the bay area, and my wedding was still amazing! They are also very resonable with their prices too, it would’ve costed a lot more to get married where we live! The amount of people we had was only 54 total!

@jayebee: I also forgot to add that our photographer is also amazing! Her name is Chelsea! We were actually her first wedding clients, so we took a risk but her pictures came out amazing! She now has more clientele and her pictures still look awesome! She was also really nice! I highly recommend her! Her rates are also very affordable and she does travel down to South Lake Tahoe! Here are her links:
