I certainly don’t think it’s unacceptable!  I mean, if you gotta go, you gotta go!

Just do your best to be quiet/discrete and maybe try to pick times when others are less likely to be around.  Are their any private (as in 1 stall) bathrooms anywhere in the vicinity?  If you had a break, you could hit that location up, so you’d have to worry less about others ‘being there’.  Plus, I doubt anyones going to be checking shoes and shaking their head or anything!

I know where you are coming from with this. I think the same thing about someone seeing my shoes! lol but you cannot hold it in…you must go. I try to use another private restroom or go in the stall furthest away from the entrance. Also…always courtesy flush! :O) LOL

Two words…courtesy flush. Master this trick well, and you’ll be in the clear regardless of the situation.

i am no help here… i usually can’t go in public or in unfamiliar places. this is bad on vacations… i’ve ended up in the hospital before from uh… holding it in.

it was an interesting time when Dear Fiance and i moved in together.

does your retail store have one of those family bathrooms? there are no stalls and it’s only one room that locks….

@katielady0201: I suggest you read the book “Everyone Poops”. Smile

Seriously though, it’s natural! Everyone does it! Do not be ashamed of getting “caught”. We might be women but that doesn’t mean we defecate rainbows and cupcakes. Anyone who laughs at people who go #2 at work are just jealous. Wink

@AppliedScience: somehow, I don’t know how yet…. but some how, i will fit “defecate rainbows and cupcakes” into a conversation this coming week.

Aww, I hate that going #2 is unacceptable in public. I go anywhere and everywhere. But it’s mostly because when it hits… I either have to go or it will come out in my undies! TMI?! Haha. But seriously, in retail stores I go #2 and I come out while other women are looking at me like, wtf… and then others I can hear saying, “Wow it smells awful in here”. That’s just part of life IMO. I know it sucks when you  have other co-workers to answer to. Just try to be quiet, but I wouldn’t hold back. If they have something to say that’s their problem. 🙂

I’m not sure if eating a lighter lunch may help. It may, but around lunch time, even if I just eat a granola bar.. my body says, you need to relieve yourself of that food! Boo.

*pro tip* Throw a little TP in the toilet before ya do your business. It’ll catch the evidence and there’ll be no ‘streaks of betrayal’ left behind after you flush. Combine that with the courtesy flush the ladies mentioned and there’s no evidence at all! Bahaha.

@indibee: Bahahahahhahahah. Your tip had me laughing for some odd reason. There was girls in college who were mortified to poop in the common bathrooms, and this was one of those tips that the RA’s told them.

I use the Tim Hortons bathroom downstairs… it’s a single bathroom.. I hate using public bathrooms as well. but it’s better than using one of the stalls on my floor.

I’d never done a #2 in a public bathroom until about a year ago.  I always worked a shift that I got off fairly early, and (TMI) go every day at 5:30pm like clock work.

If I ever have an issue now where I need to go at work, I’ll leave and go do it at McDonald’s or something.  I don’t have to face those people for the rest of the day…

I’m also the office manager at my work, so I always make sure the girl’s bathroom has a plunger, toilet brush and air freshener just in case I ever REALLY have to go.  I think the other ladies appreciate this too.

I think my real fear is plugging up the toilet at work and having to call somebody to come fix it, and put up my own “out of order” sign.

The crazy part is that I work in an office that’s 90% men, who are so proud of their burps, farts and nasty dumps…
