NonannaS: I agree with PP’s, try to relax and not stress too much (impossible, I know!) From the sounds of it, some spotting is normal as long as there isn’t cramping with it. If it were me, I would see the doctor in 8 days. I’m sorry you’re going through this and hope everything stays sticky..

NonannaS: I would recommend trying to relax and do not google anything, I know it’s hard but you’re pregnant right now and there is nothing you can do that will prevent/avoid a chemical pregnancy if that were to happen. Spotting/light bleeding can occur during pregnancy, your temperature is still high and you’re still testing positive on your tests. In my experience with my 4 chemical pregnancies, I did not bleed nor spot until after I had negative tests, so spotting/bleeding only started when there was no HcG in my system. Sending you tons of positive thoughts and hugs!

I had bright red spotting at 11DPO with a BFN. Went to the doc because I thought it was CD1 of my next cycle (I had monitored cycles) that day at the doctor I found out I was pregnant. They put me on 100mg of prometrium, as a precaution, to help maintain the pregnancy.
I am 15w1d pregnant today.
So bright red spotting does not necessarily mean a chemical. I would go to the doctor and see if you could get a script for prometrium. One of the main reasons for early miscarriages is lack of progesterone. However, that being said I think I would have sustained the pregnancy without the prometrium because I wasn’t able to fill my script until 4 days after the spotting and I had no other spotting during that time. But it is better safe than sorry!<br /><br />I hope your situation is similar to mine – Good Luck!!!! Fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

Like others have said try to remain positive.
I had red spotting throughout my first trimester and went on to have a healthy little girl, so it could be nothing.
I had a chemical pregnancy a few months prior to that and The bleeding was heavy, not spotting.

shortly after getting a positive pregnancy test I had spotting. (without cramping.) it returned around 9 weeks and then again for the last time around 13-14 weeks. The doctor said it wasn’t normal per say , but not abnormal either if that makes any sense… that it can be normal for some women I guess is what he was trying to get at?

Thank you for the kind words everyone.
I went to the Doc onboard. Cleary not overly familiar with temping, DPO etc. but still nice and informative. They gave me one of those dollar store tests and it was faint but still there. I wasnt concered with this though because it was a cheapie and I had peed 5 times in the last two hours and drank 1/2 a liter water.
The Doc just said bleeding means loosing the baby. Gonna take that with a grain of salt. But I have not bled AT ALL today. Still no cramping, still sore boobs.
They did refer to a Doc tomorrow. And I will happily go get tests. The hospital in this port is known to be pretty good.

MrsAKSkier: thank you… I enjoy statistics. I hate to fly, so before I do, I always look the the odds of crashing to make myself feel better. Crazy, I know.

I had spotting on and off (few days on, few days off) for a few weeks in my first trimester. It stopped cold right after my first prenatal appointment at 10 weeks, and now I’m at 17 weeks and things seem to be going fine.

NonannaS: I’m thinking about you today – hope your appointment with the doctor in port goes well. I’m sure it’s hard not to worry, but I know spotting isn’t abnormal in early pregnancy, and I think the fact that you’re not cramping and not spotting anymore are all good things. Fingers crossed that it was just your bub burrowing in nice and deep and everything is fine 🙂

Update – Woke up this morning, still a BFP on a Clearblue, no more spotting, super high temp (but I was awake every few hours, probably from stress).
So I went to an island doctors. And I was there for 6 HOURS!!!! The doctor asked me questions but seemed a little dissmissive about my knowledge of my cycle. He couldnt find any more bleeding. He did an ultrasound and I hear the words “I cant find any signs of a pregnancy”… and my heart droped. A few minutes later I mentioned that I was sure I was 14 DPO. He stopped and said that you cant see anything at 14DPO. I think he was upset that I didnt mention it. But he didnt ask and didnt let me tell him everything in the office.
So he sent me to draw blood, but since I needed the results, I had to wait in the waiting room for 4 hours!!!!!! So finally he said, the blood results said I am pregnant (they are normal range for 14 DPO) and I will get them redone in two days. He is still worried about an eptopic pregnangy so I am an bedrest till then.
The Doc onboard asked if I was excited, I said “I was for 18 hours, but now I am just being cautious”

NonannaS: I had some spotting from about 13-16 DPO, was mostly brown but also bright red one time. I freaked out and thought I was for sure losing the baby, but it was fine! I’m now almost 14 weeks pregnant. Please don’t worry too much, especially if the bleeding has stopped and you have no cramping!
