First lets start of with he has two huge speakers BIGGER than me in his apartment. He use to blast it all the time, until he got a new neighbor beside him thats a law student & reported him. So he stopped with all the loudness. (We would tell him to turn it down when we had poeple over & He would so we never reported him.) BUT WANTED TO, I just didn’t want any trouble with him because we have to live beside him. Okay, next off the list he is a pedophile!!!!!!!!! We had NO idea until one day he TOLD US sitting in OUR LIVING ROOM! OUR MOUTHS DROPPED!!!!!!!!!!!! We found him on the internet, listed with his info & everything. The little girl was SIX YEARS OLD! He is 21 & done this when he was 16. So after that, basically we drifted away from even talking to him. So now he doesn’t come over at all. Okay, here is where I need help. The law student that lives next door to him is gone for the summer (he is from another state.) & Now he is turning his music up AGAIN. I have went over there probably around 5 times since he started this telling him to turn it down. He does but the next day starts right back up. I want to tell our landlord but I don’t want to start trouble. *Sigh* Please bee’s tell me what you would do? Husband & I have both talked to him about this & it doesn’t seem to help, at all. He will turn it down for that day then the next RIGHT back up. Pictures & Mirrors have literally rocked back & forth on my wall from his music. (Although it hasn’t been that loud since he was reported.) I don’t like this guy at all, he is really starting to get on my nerves. I know, I know I should go to the landlord, But I HATE drama. Shew…. HELP!!?!!?!?!?

Going to your landlord is actually best because the landlord will just say “there’ve been complaints” and he won’t know it was you. You might want to casually drop in there that he’s a pedophile since the landlord might not know that.

I agree with everyone else. Tell the landlord and if it doesn’t stop call the cops.

Thanks so much bee’s. Actually she does know because I mentioned it. She said she is trying to give him a second chance in life. She is in her 70’s & is the sweetest woman there is. (Here is the thing though our apartment complexe is SMALL, 6 apartments only.) & He would know it is us because we are the only ones beside him the other is on vacation all summer & the girl beside us is a law student & on vacation also! Other than that he is friends with the couple that is on the other side like 4 apartments down from him, shew. & A older woman whom is NEVER home is 4 apartments down from him. I am going crazy, he has it up RIGHT now blasting. I’m to scared to call the cops? I don’t want big trouble started but I think When we go to pay rent on the 27th I WILL tell her it has got to STOP! She is on the verge of telling him to leave anyways. She is tired of his complaints & also tired of his apartment always being NASTY! & Bee’s when I say NASTY I MEAN NASTTTAAAYYYYY! Hubby & I was SHOCKED when we first moved in & went to his apartment for like 10 minutes. I know he is a guy but my God people, cig buds every where on the coffe table & tobacco all over the floor with ashes?

I would probably make a video so you have proof that you can hear the music loud from your apartment and the pictures and mirrors vibrating because he might claim harrassment because you know he is a sex offender (it also helps in case you decide you can’t take it any more and you want out of your lease that conditions are unbearable).
First go to you landlord and if that doesn’t work then definitely report him to the police.

We had an upstairs neighbor like this. He also used to stand out on his balcony with his friends and smoke and pour beer all over the place, including our patio. In the morning I would wake up and pick up beer cans that had blown of his patio. He blasted his music day and night (while I was trying to write my master’s thesis no less).
We complained to our apartment manager at least 4 times before anything was actually done. We also called the police twice because it was late at night, and our town has a noise ordinance. You’ve asked him several times to turn his music down, so I think that’s pretty fair warning. I would report him to your landlady and tell her that if it doesn’t stop within a week, you’re calling the police.

@tranquility: We are looking for a house to rent right now! We live in downtown & there is two schools. One being a law school & another a pharmacy school. So our apartment is the cheapest one we could find. All the other ones are up WAY above our price range due to it being in town & all. We are looking for something outside of town. So wish us LUCK!

@stephanie63087: LOL that made me smile! 🙂 Thanks! I think I will tell the landlord first & see if that helps. It did when the other neighbor beside him did. I just hate to bring anyone else in it. But I guess I’ll have to!
