Have you considered getting something in a different base metal but with a white gold overlay? The results could look like they’re a matching set but for very cheap. It’s not a long-term solution, but as long as you don’t think you’d get too emotionally attached to the first wedding band, you could plan to replace it a couple years after the wedding.

Have you looked on eBay? Etsy? Etsy probably has some reasonably priced gold filled or sterling.

This is the site Fiance and I ordered rings from.  They have a ton in your price range.  I don’t think you would have too much of a problem putting white gold and sterling silver together.  White gold has to be redipped periodically anyway- you just might have to do it a few months sooner.

If you love the first ring you post GO FOR IT ! Nothing will happen to your engagement ring. I mix and match rings made from different materials all the time.
