- Wedding: September 2012
My Fiance and I are actually eloping in Hong Kong(Almost a real one, it will just be us and no one knows but our parents because they’re nose and I can’t keep secrets)…Anyway our idea is that in Hong Kong we will find some small “favors” that we can bring back and put into the wedding announcements. The wedding announcements are going to be exploding boxes (like this but with pictures from our ceremony and some pictures of us in Hong Kong probably). I’ve already ordered mailing boxes that are 5in cubes and unless we buy something super heavy to put inside them I am estimating the shipping to be between $2 and $3.
I want it to look clean since really this is the only thing anyone will be getting relating to our wedding and since we aren’t paying for a party for all this I am willing to spend a little bit more on the announcements, but I can’t find any stamps that I want to use on the boxes. I am not opposed to having more than one postage stamp, but the $1 stamps at USPS aren’t very appealing to me. But if it comes down to it I would go with the ugly stamps over the mailing labels from USPS that you can print for packages. I don’t send many packages but as long as the price is right it’s okay to use postage stamps on packages right? I don’t have to print out the label with all the crazy barcodes and stuff do I?
I know there are $1 stamps at Zazzle and even more pricey ones, but I don’t really care for the barcodes that Zazzle and other companies like them put on the stamps. I looked into Stamps.com but I can’t find examples of what the postage that you print off looks like and also I am a bit iffy about them because I’ve read a couple of bad reviews and I don’t like the idea that it’s a subscription service that I will probably have to jump through hoops to get rid of.
Does anyone know of any services that I could print out the postage but it won’t have barecodes and numbers all over it? Or somewhere to get $1 or higher stamps besides USPS? I am not opposed to putting more than one stamp.
Anyway, I know it’s just the outside of the box, but besides our paperwork to marry in Hong Kong this is the only other thing I am doing for the wedding and since I have the luxury of only having this one thing to stress over I might as well put all I’ve got into it.
If anyone can help me out with other options or suggestions that would be great. Thanks guys!
