I think that you seem a tad bit wishy washy. Friendships have their natural ebb and flow sometimes as you’ve obviously noticed. I would first have a conversation with C and tell her about how you are feeling before you make the decision to bump her off and replace her with her arch nemesis. You owe it to her to speak up about how you feel and ask her to help you out more before you do something drastic. Don’t go from zero to a hundred in T-2, get me?

With regard to K, she does deserve some token of your gratitude regardless. It’s great that she’s so helpful and generous.

Sorry, I see where I misread your dilemma. However, the approach still fits. You have to have a conversation with C about how you feel with regard to her stepping up to the plate. During that discussion, you should get a feel for where her mind is in this situation and how much she wants to help or not help. If the conversation flows well, use it to also tell her that you’re making K a bridesmaid because of all of the help that she’s given thus far and reiterate that she is still your Maid/Matron of Honor.

Just tell C that you had added another bridesmaid a while back (since she hasnt brought up anything about the wedding anyways). Its YOUR wedding, your two friends can suck it up and be around each other for a few hours. The day is about you, their friend! If you feel that K deserves a spot in your wedding, then add her!

do what makes you happy. it sounds like k is okay with not being in the wedding and is just being a good friend. so dont feel obligated because she has been the “better” friend. if you want her in it. add her. talk to c first. you dont have to mention how she isnt  as excited about the wedding as k. just say you have decided you want two people to stand up next to you. and sounds like theyh should be able to grow up and get along for one day.
