@deedee333:  Hmm, none of my girlfriends were really of the ‘big spender’ mentality for their B-parties.  For one, we rented a lake house and hung out sunbathing, cooking/eating, and drinking wine all weekend…for another, we went out for pizza and then to a piano bar….and for the one I hosted, we had desserts and drinks and a spa product exchange (like an ornament or white elephant gift exchange, only the bride could ‘steal’ at any time) in the party room at my apartment complex.  For the second one, I had booked a table at a lounge for afterwards, but everyone was having such a fun time with the girl-talk stuff that we never ended up going out!

I may be overly optimistic, but maybe since everyone’s already traveling for their wedding, they won’t expect people to do it again?  Or if they do want to have something that ‘feels’ like a vacation, could you Priceline a hotel suite in or near your town and have a ‘fancy’ slumber party?

if your friends are getting married 6 months before you, shouldn’t they already be married.  your wedding is may 2013, next month.

@ajillity81:  Some people put a fake date for privacy reasons, her wedding can’t really be happening next month for the obvious reason you pointed out.

OP, that’s tough – honestly I think it’s kind of selfish of your friends to expect a big party like that when you already have to pay for a cruise just to attend their wedding! How many days into the cruise is the wedding happening – are you guys planning on having these parties before they leave, or are there any club or nightlife options on the ship where the bachelorette party could happen on the ship? Second option would probably be the easiest financially since you wouldn’t have to worry about transportation, and there shouldn’t be any concern of strippers or anything on the boat.

@Wonderstruck:  just curious, but how is putting a false wedding date protecting your privacy.  wouldn’t having a username that you never used before, not putting any personal information on the site, and not having your account linked to facebook protect your privacy.

i’m sure there are thousands of brides getting married on any particular day, especially fridays, saturdays, and sundays.

@ajillity81:  Not if you disclose your venue – typically there is only one couple getting married per day at most places. But seriously, do you actually have any advice for the OP are are you just on the thread to question her wedding date? There is nothing about her post that reads as suspicious, why would someone bother with a fake account to ask a question like this?

@Wonderstruck:

depending on the month of her wedding, would depend what season and what activties i would suggest. i wouldn’t want my bachelorette party to be a beach trip if it was going to be the middle of january.

that being said, putting your venue information is disclosing more personal information than having the correct wedding date.

For a bachelorette, what about a grown up version of a slumber party.  Make gourmet pizza and buy tasy but cheap wine.  Buy a bunch of nail polish and makeup that’s budget friendly.  Do each other’s hair, make up and nails.  Gossip while watching old cheesy movies that were the bride’s favorites from high school.
