Try the vendor reviews section at http://projectwedding.com for ideas. The local parks dept may have something you can use.

One of my clients used the elks lodge in Pasadena. They got married a few years ago, but I know the spent about $15k (sorry I don’t remember the exact number) and loved it. I know your budget is less than the average wedding here in LA, but its a great size…our budget is only $5k!

oOo Can I help you plan your wedding?  Try Covina Hills Ranch Estate for venue.  Its a blank canvas so you can dec it out however you want.  Only problem is it is outdoors.  Use http://www.theimperialpartyrentals.com/ for party rental.  Find a family owned caterer because a lot of the times they are cheaper.  Use Madeline from Cubrix Photography http://www.babyprintsphotography.com/i.  Buy your wine from San Antonio Winery.  Good and awesome prices.  Alcohol from BEVMO and Costco.  And wah la you have a wedding for well under $15 k and a lot to spare for your honemoon Smile

If you stay away from downtown LA area, there are plenty of venues that are reasonable. Some I found and been to that are around $50pp.

1. Westridge Golf Club

2. Almansor Court

3. Luminarias/Monterey Hills Steakhouse

Try the Crystal Marquis in Whittier; resonable pricing and no service charge!!! There’s also the clarke estate in santa fe springs and check City websites to see if they have wedding spaces.

I’m not sure what part of LA you are looking at.  I live in Ventura County and there are a ton of lovely places in the Camarillo/somis area.  One location we looked at that was very reasonable is called the Vineyards and it is located in Simi Valley http://www.thevineyardsimi.com/  We ended up picking a different place but this place fit a lot of our needs.

You could try the Pasadena Masonic Lodge. I’m not sure about their catering expenses but the hall is $2500 on a friday and you need to rent the parking lot across the street for about $500. Both prices are for the whole day.
