I have to be honest with you. In comparison the 2nd looks amateur and childlike (minus the bottles). The first is typical and yes a little bland but at least it looks professional. That second one….idk.

TBH, the second looks like a congratulatory card that a guest would give a couple for their wedding.

critturtle :  πŸ˜„ Perhaps. Is it possible to keep looking and find something else that might fit her personality a little better or does it have to be one of these?

I agree that the first one is a little…boring. But I voted for it, because as a PP said, it looks like a card a guest would give the couple.  Maybe a little more searching is in order to find a nice balance of fun and appropriate? πŸ™‚

I will be honest. Second one looks like birthday party invitation. I would go with number 1. I am a snoozefest fan I guess. *shrugs*

When you follow the link for the second one it literally says its a wedding or anniversary CARD, not invite.

That said, I think the first one is boring if your sister has unique taste.

Weddingpaperdivas/other premade invite sites have a ton of different designs i’m sure ou can find something better.

Second one looks like an invitation to a child’s birthday party. I absolutely don’t think the first is boring at all- it’s got a lovely design and colors. Makes me think, “oh, this is going to be a classy and delightful affair” rather than “will there be pony rides and face painting?”

Amy Turner :  WeddingPaperDivas has an entire section of “whimsical” wedding invitations, as does Minted. Colorful and more fun, but event appropriate. And I’m sure they’re not the only sites that do.

critturtle :  your sister can look for bright colors and fun prints to less boring, and still find something that looks wedding-y!  I found some examples on those sites:

    001

    004

    003

    005

    006

    002

critturtle :  Actually, now the idea of pony rides and face painting is sounding better and better for my wedding. My Fiance and I do sometimes talk about getting married in a giant bouncy castle…

I think the second ones look like a wedding announcement or a greeting card, but I’d choose just about anything over those first ones. They just look so sad! I’d expect to see those colors on the walls in a house in some movie directed by Tim Burton, but not on an invite to such a happy event. Thankfully, there are so many options out there that say wedding without coming off as too serious. We got ours from Minted, and there were tons of really cheerful ones we liked there. We decided on these, and spruced up our hand-delivered ones with fun trims to make them stand out more

I prefer #1. It’s beautiful. But I voted for #2 because she wants something different.

The first one is gorgeous. Second one looks like a kid’s party. But… can’t you just ask her what she likes?
