So are you a 3.5, 3.75, or 4? In sizes that small I would imagine even a small amount would make a big difference

You won’t notice a huge difference between 1ct vs 1.2ct. You should try on different carat sizes and see which coverage you prefer. Personally I think 1 to 1.5 ct is a good range. It’s the same range I was looking at but I’m a size 6 and I wind up going a little larger 1.72. While hunting for a pear, I noticed a lot of pears are spread cut so they look larger from the top. So you could get a 1ct that looks like a 1.3ct from the top. You’ll also have to make sure the depth is not too shallow on spread cuts.

If you had the budget for a 1.5 and can keep the quality good go for that!!! My pear is a little over 1.2 carats as I didn’t want to compromise quality for size! My fingers are a 4.5 – I love the size of my stone and get lots of comments on the shape! Happy ring shopping!

Thank you!  I think any size will look beautiful on you.  To me, pears always look large, I think it’s more important to figure out what length / width ratio you like.  Do you like one that is shorter, fatter and more round, or do you prefer longer and pointier?  I found I liked the slightly longer shapes, so I think my L/W ratio is somewhere in the 1.55-1.65 range.  The kind of pear you get may matter more than the exact carat size in the end. Just my two cents! Happy shopping!
