@mrshoggetobe:  How many centerpieces will you need? Are you allowed to have open flames at your venue?

Baby’s breath is inexpensive and easy to use for DIY centerpieces. You could get a variety of vases at the thrift store and spray paint them either blue or red.

You could do small vases painted blue with one red flower in each vase

one flower or bud per small vase, globe vasesFresh and Frugal ~ Glazed bud vases look most effective with a variety of different blooms, twigs, and leaves. Try grouping them on a tray for an instant centerpiece on a coffee table -- Marcus Hay, freelance designer

You can buy inexpensive coffee mugs from the Dollar Store  stencil on each guest’s initial, or write it on with a sharpie, bake in the oven to set the ink, then use those for vases. Cluster them in the center for a takeaway centerpiece. Doubles as a favor.

@mrshoggetobe:  That was an unnecessary comment. Many bees have used those types of centerpieces and they are definitely classy.

Good luck with coming up with an idea.

I suggest going to a local florist if you want the centerpieces with floating candles.  Most I talked to where I live have vases available for rent.  It ends up being way less that way.  Also, to save money I would skip the part around the bottom.  A cheaper way would to go through oriental trading a buy some cheap mirrors or something.
