Depends on whether you’re having a bridal party or not. Also, are you doing a first look? Your photographer might be better equipped to let you know what time you should be ready by if your taking any pics before the ceremony. I would allow at least 45 minutes for hair & 1 hour for makeup, of course this is very subjective on the look you are going for. Obviously more glam makeup and an elaborate updo will change the amount of time.

Depends on what you need to get ready – are you having professionals come in to do hair and makeup – for you only or also your bridal party and mothers? Do you want to have a first look? Do you need to be at the ceremony site by a certain time or is there a cap on how early you can be there by?

My ceremony began at 4:30, we could arrive 2 hours prior, and we did to get dressed there and do our first look photos (everything including photos, ceremony and reception was in one location). I had my hair and MUA arrive at 8:00am to do hair for 6, and makeup for 4. We had hair and makeup going from 8a-2p, then packed up and drove to the ceremony site by 2:30.

I started with my time of ceremony as 0:00 and then adjusted everything from there, including allowing lots of time for travel. So 5 1/2 hours before my ceremony start time is when we’re leaving for the salon for hair and make up, we’re all being done at the same time. Allowing 90mins for hair 75 mins for makeup, photographer arriving 1 1/2 hours before ceremony start for getting ready photos, and then arriving 30 mins prior to ceremony start time at my chapel. I did my time table based on military apprivcation time.

I’ve been thinking the same as you recently! Is the hair and makeup coming to you, or do you need to go to a salon? Also how many people need to get ready? I like to be prepared for everything so I’d probably start early- 8am-ish and then just relax so there isn’t so much pressure in the lead up. I can imagine that feeling rushed on your wedding day is not ideal haha.

My ceremony was at 4 and we had our hair done at 9 and make up done at 12. 3 of us had make up done by 1 MUA.
