Can you give us some background about your venue and the “feel” of your wedding?

I think the dresses are appropriate for the private club reception venue. Might not fit with the chapel though. They definitely have a different feel from your dress. Yours (beautiful by the way!) feels soft and romantic and the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are very glam/blingy/red carpet. I would probably choose something a little more simple if i were you. Maye flowy 1-shouldered chiffon or something like that?

I’m a huge advocate for letting your bridesmaids select their own dresses.  You can set some parameters like color and length.  It’s very vogue right now to have coordinating, but not matching bridesmaid dresses.  Also it allows them to find something budget and body conscious.  If you choose something they think is ugly, unflattering, or too expensive, it can lead to resentment.  Plus, depending on style, one dress could mean most girls pay very little for alterations while one girl gets screwed and has to pay a lot more because it might not come closely in her size.  For the last wedding I was in, my bride chose a color, brand, and length.  I found a used one on ebay and saved a fortune.

Another option is to rent the dresses.  For my wedding my mom paid for my bridesmaids’ rentals ($45 each).
