Hi there all!
It’s my first post on here (I suppose that I’ve lurked a bit before) so thanks to any who answer!
I’m in the midst of having some mini-consults for hair and makeup for my 2013 wedding. I’ve been to both Sachiko Yanase and Stacy Pitt for hair and really liked them both as people. I had assumed I would like Stacy’s work a bit more given that’s she’s SO well-known and used but I’m struggling a bit now with the decision.
Sachiko treated the mini-trial as a true trial. My hair style was very polished and she spent at least an hour to an hour and a half on it. Stacy went a bit quicker but allowed me to see three different styles in about 45 minutes. I’m not judging Stacy’s work by how polished it was because clearly the trial wasn’t about that–but I did feel that Sachiko’s style (I made them both do the same style) looked a bit more elegant and not so wedding-y.
I think they’re both SUPER talented so i was hoping you guys might have some insight about working with either or them (or both, if you’re like me!). Any help would be much apprecited! 🙂

I personally just booked Sachiko. She’s been doing this for 20 years and as you saw, she’s super talented and sweet to boot. I also think her packages are a better deal. I guess if you’re just looking for bridal hair & makeup, it’s better to go with Stacy or someone else who doesnt make you go with a package, but if you’re looking for services for your wedding party and/or moms, I think Sachiko would be a better choice. Plus, she has the most reviews (official and organic) that I’ve seen and reviews don’t lie.

I used Sachiko for my wedding and I can’t say enough good things about her. The work that she did was flawless (both makeup and hair) and she was such a lovely person to have in the bridal suite while getting ready. She was super professional and so sweet. Each of my bridesmaids had totally different hair types (One curly, one thick and curly, one long and pin straight) and her creations were beautiful on all of them. They were also not super weddingy, which I liked. My hair and makeup, as well as my bridesmaids hair, all lasted throughout the entire evening, through dancing and everything. The only thingI had to touch-up was my lipstick.
She ended up giving me a brand new MAC LipGlass that she had with her and wouldn’t take any money for it (I snuck an extra $20 into her tip) and the package was one of the best deals I could find for a person willing to work on me and my three bridesmaids on site. She’s amazing and I would book her again a thousand times over.
In terms of timing, she did my hair and make-up (airbrush) and each of my bridesmaids hairstyles. She arrived at around noon (she was actually at the hotel a little earlier than I was) and we finished up around four thirty. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, so she could probably have worked a little faster if necessary. She was also very open to changing things (one of my bridesmaids was a little picky) and honing them down until everyone was comfortable.
She was great!
