Hello bees!! I’m a long time lurker here and would really appreciate your comments on my dress dilemma!
Dress #1: Legends by Romona Keveza
(Sorry for the bad picture, was sneakily snapped by my mom)
Dress #2: Truvelle
Background: I started off wanting a simple Nicole Miller type dress, something fitted and less traditional as I never quite imagined myself in a wedding-y dress. But I when I tried on the Legends by Romona dress, I loved it and didn’t want to take it off. The only thing is I feel it’s much more feminine and grander than my personality, and doesn’t really reflect who I am that well as it’s unlike anything I’d normally pick out. I also loved the Truvelle dress, which my close friends all say is much more ‘me’, and also fits the venue (art gallery) and vibe (intimate, less formal) better. It’s also a third the price. Rationally the Truvelle makes more sense, but I still find myself thinking about that gorgeous tulle skirt! Lastly I worry that the deep V on the Truvelle is too trendy (and I’m pretty flat chested, I guess similar to the model’s size in the stock photo).
Thoughts?? Thank you so much in advance!!

The Romona Keveza is amazing!! It looks awesome on you!
It’s ok to get a dress that is not what you envisioned – you have (hopefully) one wedding day, get the dress that makes you feel amazing! Don’t worry about what other people think you should get – this decision is all about you!

I voted for the first dress. While I like the pattern on the second dress something just seems off with how the bodice is shaped. The first dress fits wonderfully.
The second dress reminds me of J. Crew’s Principessa which I have always liked.

The legends dress is stunning on you!!! If you keep thinking about it then get it! It definitely is okay to end up with something different than you originally imagined. That actually happened with me and I am so happy I ended up with the dress I couldn’t stop thinking about. i would definitely get the legends dress!

Legends x10000 – you look jaw dropping gorgeous just from a candid phone snap. Imagine what you’ll look like in that beauty on your wedding day! The Truvelle is pretty too, but doesn’t compare to the Romona. In my not so humble opinion anyway 🙂

First of all, I just want to say that I have been obsessed with that legends dress for a while, and it looks even more beautiful on a real bride! Maybe I am totally biased, but I would go with the legends dress, you look SPECTACULAR !!!

I would go with the first one. Before I went to try on dresses I kept pinning ballgowns. When I finally looked on the website of where I would be trying on some dresses I found one I loved. But like you it was different from what I would usually pick out. I fell in love with that dress and got that one. Go with your gut, if you can’t stop smiling and don’t want to take it off that’s a good sign. You only do this once, so follow your heart!

You look so amazing in the legends dress! You fit right with your venue because you look like a piece of art.
do not pass go, that is your dress!
(The other one is awkward on top. It isn’t in same galaxy as the first.)

The Truvelle is totally unique and perfect for an art gallery. Maybe sleep on it for a bit? You may ultimately regret not feeling like yourself on your wedding day. Then again, your wedding is a chance to do something totally different and glamorous! Probably depends on how you envision your wedding–i.e. totally reflective of you both as a couple or a once in a lifetime thing.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and for taking the time to respond!!! It looks like the Legends dress is the overwhelming favourite! I guess I am just torn because I worry I won’t feel like ‘myself’ in it; I’d feel beautiful, but self-conscious if that makes sense? I do agree it’s definitely more flattering! I think I need to think this one over (and rethink the budget.. hah!)

This is exactly the debate going on in my mind! Unique and ‘me’ vs. different and glamorous! I would say I see the wedding more as reflective of us as a couple, rather than a once in a lifetime thing, hence the Truvelle. I just never expected to feel such a primal attraction towards soft fluffy white fabric 🙂

i LOVE the truvelle. If it feels like you, go for it! it’s beautiful and you want to feel like you on your day, not like you’re playing dress up. Close your eyes and picture yourself walking down the aisle. Which one do you picture? That’s your answer.

Do the RAMONA. Its spectacular and one of my absolute favourite gowns, ever.

Wow, I love the first dress on you!

Bee, close your eyes and imagine yourself on your wedding day. Can you see yourself getting married in the Truvelle or the Legends?
When I was debating between two dresses, I just couldn’t picture myself getting married in, and feeling comfortable in, one of the two. I also didn’t want to get out of my dress, I just wanted to keep wearing it!
