has anyone ever been to any of these venues? We are looking at these specific ones because they provide in house kosher catering so we don’t have to look elsewhere… is it easier that way? I mean we could open up other venue possibilities but I feel like it’s much easier to work with a caterer who’s working with the venue already. Am I wrong?
im planning our date for November (6 months from now, hopefully that’s possible) I feel like picking a venue is taking FOREVER, is it just me? Hopefully decisions will be easier after this.
Also has anyone been to Parker or Wagner at the battery hotel ?
Also there is old westbury Hebrew congregation but I really like a NYC wedding.. sadly it’s pricey so I’m not decisive!
If anyone knows any other in house kosher catering / venue please share! In Manhattan area

sweetwedd6711 : Hey I don’t keep kosher but I’ve been to a few of these venues for various upscale events. What kind of vibe are you going for and what is your ideal setup? Of the ones you listed I LOVE Gotham Hall. It is stunning on the inside and not as much of a pain transportation wise as the midtown venues. Cipriani 42 is spectacular but you should check the UN schedule and know that if Trump happens to be in town that part of 42nd street will be in gridlock. I’m not a huge fan of the Ziegfeld. With the new renovation it feels very cavernous and soulless. There’s no character there. Have you looked at the Cipriani on Wall Street? I know someone who is kosher who got married at the Museum of Finance downtown that was stunning but don’t know specifics on caterer.

Thank you for your response! I’m really into a princess ballroom type vibe.. I was thinking of decorating with cherry blossom flowers and making the whole decor very pink and princess like, with mini lamps hanging off the flowers on the table (if you know what I’m talking About) I don’t like anything rustic or vintage.
Good to know about Gotham hall! Cipriani wall st is an option … they all cost the same for venue except the new Cipriani.
I have an appointment to see Gotham hall. I just want to pick a venue already and be done with it! My budget is 100k so I have to manage this and Gotham hall is really pricey as is the rest so it’s tough… especially with a kosher menu and the taxes that rack up! It’s disgusting lol. I am still getting the whole jist of how a wedding works and planning and I’m still trying to figure it all out, any tips are much appreciated 🙂

P.s is a wedding planner worth it? Or waste of money

sweetwedd6711 : For the size of your budget and I imagine the size of your guest list, a wedding planner is definitely worth it. Plus it’s already almost June so a November wedding is a tight turnaround for a wedding of this scale (in terms of booking the venue, finding vendors with availability). Also it’s NYC so there are a zillion other events (not just weddings) you’re competing with. You should book your venue within the next two weeks.
