Our venue won’t let us hang ANYTHING. The ceiling and fixtures are pretty ugly and we would really like to hang lanterns or lights or tissue decorations but we have to build/bring our own way of hanging them. The Venue suggested “Piping” but I’ve tried looking it up and can’t find anything about piping other than services that will do full on fabric treatments on the walls and ceilings. We basically just want something to stand from one end of the room to the other so we can hang a string with some decor on it. Any ideas??
Thanks thanks thanks! Again the venue said NOTHING can be hung on the wall or fixtures so not even hooks or tape or suction cups…nada 🙁

You can get PVC pipe from your local hardware store.
Try doing a google search under “PVC pipe wedding backdrop” and there are tons of ideas there!

Have you had a discussion with them about 3M Command hooks? I have done decorating for charity events here, where I had to do a demo for them in order to show the venue that the hooks can be use on any surface with no damage whatsoever.
If they still won’t agree, you can get patio umbrella stands, insert a pipe the height you need to clear everyone’s head with your decorations and string a line from the top. make sure you have holes drilled in the pipe before you set it up. You can use as many sets of these to string as many lines as you need.

LOVE IT. That’s perfect!!! I ran through the list of non-damaging options but they just won’t allow anything. We’re also thinking about metallic balloons to fill up the space above the dance floor and get some reflective lightingness. The stands are a great idea and I think that’s what we’ll do to hang a banner or two!!! Thanks so much ladies!
