Dear ladies, I would love to get your opinions on these two combinations.
e-ring with guard:
e-ring with contour wedding band
I know the quality of the picture with wedding band isn’t very good, so here’s a pic of the band by itself.
my e-ring by itself
I already have the guard, but I feel I’ve decided too soon.. Although I think it’s gorgeous, I’m just not sure if it’s too much (for me). I don’t think it’s gaudy, but, to me, it’s quite big and very very sparkly. Definitely an eye-catcher.. Also, the juweler who sold it to us was completely decorated in gold and diamonds. I don’t wear a lot of juwelry, so I question if I should have relied on his opinion.. With the guard I wonder if people will think I’m just showing it off.
Now, I totally love my e-ring! I couldn’t have picked it out any better myself. It’s just perfect! The shape of the ring (teardrop) makes it more difficult to find a matching wedding band, though. However, the teardrop detail is also what I really love about it. I feel this gets a little lost in the guard.
I want my wedding ring to be sophisticated, elegant, lovely, and complementing but not overtaking. I don’t know if those are the words that come to mind with the guard.
I’m also not a 100% sure about having a guard as a wedding ring. I know there’s the argument about balance and symmetry, but, to me, that’s not the most important thing.
I like the flow of the band. Also, both the e-ring and band have channel settings on the sides and prong in the middle.
I’ve been going over this again and again, and just when I’m about to decide to take the guard back.. I take another look and think it IS beautiful. I’m so torn up, it’s really frustrating.. I just want to be happy and in love with it, but something is holding me back.
I feel very blessed with my fiance, who has been nothing but understanding and wants me to be happy with my ring.. whichever one I decide on.
What say you, ladies? Any tips, comments, and ideas are welcome!
