(Closed) Help! Corset seams showing through trumpet skirt?

posted 4 years ago in Dress
  • poll: What should I do with the seam and boning?

Raise it so the seam and boning ENDS at the WAIST (behind the belt)

Extent it so the seam and boning CONTINUE to the TRUMPET skirt (front and back)

I had this same problem. I had to get a longline bra that stopped at the waist. It was hard, because most longlines stop at the hips. That’s the word you’re looking for. “Corset” is going to give you a line down to the hips, which unfortunately is going to be nearly impossible to hide.

If you still want holdy-inny properties, you can always do spanx under the bra. Some spanx go up to the ribcage, so it would be nearly seamless.

liningsilver:  I’m surprised they put the dress out like that! Can they add a lining to cover the boning more? A satin silk slip material inside the lining would help hide it. It’s beautiful but I agree you need to get rid of that bump if you can.
