Dress 2 is interesting but the pattern is somehow a bit much and it is much less figure flattering than dress 1. Obviously we can only judge from your mum though, you might look different in them. The only thing I would change (for your mum at least) is that the cups might be coming up a bit high?

Thanks everyone. My preference was 1 too. I was tempted by number 2 because it has a sequin underlay that gives it some sparkle and the train is more elaborate. But I like the pattern on the first one. I agree that the pattern on the second one highlights my tummy — I feel like it’s a giant target.
She put it on top of my body because I could not get it up my hips. My body shape is similar to my mum’s. My butt just juts out more than my mum’s. But our proportions are the same. I have tried other dresses that are the same shape and style and they are the best ones to suit me.
Unfortunately this is the bridal shop’s own design so no other store would carry the same dress. It’s half way between a custom dress and RTW dress. They only sell the same style of dress to 2-3 brides.

#2 has way to much going on.

I love that your mum tried them on for you! That is so cute! 🙂
I voted dress number 1 – not a fan of the lace on dress 2 🙁

Dress 1 for sure, although I love illusion necklines. Is that really your mom? WOW she has an amazing figure

Love 1, think 2 has too much going on at once. Also, how do I say this – the lower part of the swirly bit on the illusion straps looks like it’s coming from the armpit area – very unflattering! If you do decide to go for 2 I’d recommend keeping only the top part of the strap design.
Both look fantastic on your mom, though, and how sweet of her to try them on!

Oh, dress 1 for sure! Ditto, ain’t a fan of illusion neckline either.

I was really looking forward to try dresses with my mum. Actually, she was the only one that I wanted to try dresses with. I trust her judgement 100% when it comes to clothes – she’s my personal shopper.
She has been really sick and has been convalescing the last 4 months and has lost a lot of weight. This is the first few times that she’s been out so it’s a real treat that she’s trying on dresses for me.
I think I will pull the trigger and order the first dress. Thank you everyone for your input.
